Hot from me, the saucepans are smaller, and not the usual giant ones they usually fill a set with, and 2 fry pans

typically the frying pans go for 13-17 quid alone, and saucepans at least 12 quid each

Brilliant pans, don't always think going for a 'brand' is the best option with a lot of things, but definately 'tefal' is the best in my opinion, fab price.:-D

I think this price is all I would want to pay for these cheaper range Tefal....you cant beet Mayer stainless steel, they really will last a lifetime

The Tefal ive got were bought as wedding gifts 10 years ago. They were the then top range Tefal, costing £50-£90 a pan. We got 5 pans and 2 frying pans and not one of them has lasted more than 5 years. The non-stick has come away along the bottom and it has peeled off around the inner rims. 1 pan has even warped so that the pan lid no longer fits on it. I have only used tefal utensils in them (they have lasted btw) and have never put them in a dish washer - hand washed with sponge every time.

The guarantee is a joke as you have to send all the pans at your expense so that they can examine them. Then i bet they will make up some excuse to say they arnt covered, and you will have to pay to have them returned to you.

These are probably ok for the money, but dont go thinking the Tefal brand is anything special and certainly dont think they have a lifetime guarantee. Personally i since bought pans in supermarkets for £10-£20 which are better quality than my top range Tefal. Certainly from a pound to lastability POV.

Has anyone ever got a replacement with this lifetime gurantee? My frying pan lost all its non stick - they just replied and said it was due to overheating and this meant it was not covered.

Yeah thats what i figured, they could make up any excuse and refuse to do anything. Thats why i didnt bother sending all the pans at my own expense. You would think a email with some photos would suffice, at least initially. Rather than say i had to send ALL the pans to them. Tefal know that 99.9% of people would not take the risk of sending stuff to them at there own cost. So, it makes no difference wether its 1,2,5 or 1,000 years guarantee. Like i said its all BS.

the smaller frying pan only cost me £3.74 forgot which site think was amazon also came with free delivery, its ok only use it for doing bacon and egg butty, you can also fit rib eye steak into it
i would get this deal myself but still got saucepan that ive had 15yr's ago still in gd nick tht cost me £45 but a high grade one
almost forgot you cant use high settings on these there Bakelite handles and melt if you use a pro gas cooker still wouldnt trust using them in dishwasher
they would crack after time

Seriously I am in love my tefal frying pan, I feel like such a sad git.

When I was at uni I tried making a fried egg a few times, it stuck to the pan and I wrecked it ... it was such a nightmare (like much of my cooking at the time hehe) that I never bothered again for a decade!!

Anyway, got my mits on some non stick tefal pans, and for some reason attempted to make a fried egg. Seriously, it was amazing. didn't stick to the pan and came out perfect. Then used a tefal pot to make rice and again, same thing, perfect!!

Best thing you can do is if you are a parent and have kids at uni, give them a decent pan set like this. Otherwise, like me when I was a student, they will go out and buy the cheapest pans, screw up their food, and end up eating convenience crap!

Wow ... I got that off my chest :)

We went looking at pans over the weekend - basically my missus is sick of the cheap crud I always buy her for her birthday ...so with her big 40th coming up I thought I'd push the boat out.**

we looked at some top notch anodised pans, now as much as I despise buying 'signature lines' the Tefal Jamie Oliver Range really looked & felt the part....comes with the lifetime Guarantee (which you've all confirmed my fears ...is good for nothing) . I was just about to press the buy button, when I decided to check the online reviews....

Wooooah - http://www.reviewcentre.com/reviews55208.html

and this is for top of the range Tefals (cost is about £80 per pan!).

Gawd only knows how pants their lower range is gonna be! Therefore it's probably just a matter of using pans as disposable items nowadays ...buy a set for thirty quid, chomp on some scraped off loose PTFE flakes over the next few months....throw 'em away, rinse repeat.

it's the way of the world nowadays.

** just kiddin'. :p

Thanks for the customer reviews link HankMcSpank, pretty much backs up what im saying. Ive looked under mine and they are the Tefal Integral range, which as i say were the top range at the time. Looks like the standard of the overpriced Tefal range hasnt improved with time. Rather than put money into making them last for more than 5 years, they instead pay Jamie for his endorsement.

Interestingly looking on the internet, mine are supposed to be dishwasher safe too - i always thought Tefals instructions stated otherwise. My parents have some Tefal, although the midrange set and my mother always put them into the dishwasher (lazy moo) LOL. Suffice to say, even compared to mine they look terrible - the whole of the outside is a dull grey compared to the matt black finish when she bought them ... definately not dishwasher safe.

these are ok but not as good as they should be non-stick will begin to come away after 6 months
#16
Bought a similar set to this over 2 years ago (had a wok with it too) and they are still just as they were when bought.
#17
I have these - and yes the nonstick comes away after 6 - 12 months.

Average price too - i paid this a couple of years ago.

Nothing special

perfect for valentines day

ahaahahahh. Quote of the day

it all depends how often you use your pans? I use them daily virtually and take care not to scratch the bottom it stays non stick for about a year

other brands is less....so i guess its okay
#22
for me Tefal pans are way ahead of most other pans , they last forever and are built well with out any fancy stuff - great deal buy tefal
#23
My non stick is fine, are you guys scraping the bottom with a fork or something o_O
