Firstly you need a Makro Card

The Tefal Actifry is not your ordinary electric fryer - deep fat fyer. With the actifryer revolutionary technology from Tefal, you can cook upto 1kg of chips (enough for a family of 4) in just 1 spoon of oil.

When using a traditional 'deep fat' fryer, you will use over 100 times more oil to cook your chips or other fried foods. With this method your chips are soaking in the oil during the cooking process, saturating them meaning they are far from healthy. But with the Tefal Actifry you can prepare great homemade tasting chips that are better for you and these contain less than 3% fat. Another big advantage of the Tefal Actifry is that it is 100% safe, something traditional deep fat frying most definitely is not.

We are constanly checking the cheapest prices from all the UK stockists of the Tefal Actifry. So if you have shopped around and are ready to buy we strongly suggest you check out the latest prices here;

#2
can't say why cold but Costco had it for around 90 when I was their around a month ago. And these tend to blow up acording to reviews.

And a quick search on the forum shows results under a £100

To be entitled to a Makro Tradecard, you need to be in business or authorised to buy on behalf of a business.

So you can't just walk in and buy stuff? :<

I have had one of these for over a year now and think it is great! Bought from amazon for £90 and within a few days of purchase price had gone back up. Prices have recently gone up to around £140 in a lot of places and £174.99 at Argos today so this is a really good deal.

Saw this on watchdog, that unless Tefal have changed the design of them a cheap 50p fan is the only method of cooling and if that fails the thing is toast as it will overheat and readily catch fire.

Hot - as in price! Currys have these at £149. This is the same price as COSTCO, and whilst not everyone has a MAKRO or COSTCO card for those that do this price is hot.

I've had one for just three months and am really impressed with it. Apart from the healthier cooking method, it is so clean and your kitchen remains smell and steam free.

My 82 year old Dad also has one and I am perfectly happy for him to use it as I hate the thought of him using a deep fat fryer with all that boiling oil.

if you read the thread it would seem that they are not a fire hazzard more a smoke hazzard but I will tell you how mine goes if I manage to stay alive long enough,

some people have had problems but no one has reported fires. here is a biased report from Tefal

and here is a larger thread were many people say this is great.

What is the point in this?

For the best chips buy some maris pipers. Chop them into chips. Mix them in a bowel with a little olive oil, salt and pepper, and stick in the oven till ready.

What does the gadget do to improve this?

Safer than a deep fay fryer or chip pan!

Seem to think the issue of overheating has now been sorted.

Jesus, i've had one since last December, it's had very heavy use i've had no issues of it catching fire. Next they'll be putting warnings on nuts because a handful of people are allergic to them....... OT but why are people suddenly allergic to nuts? Wtf is that all about?

Not voting but the deal is cold because as stated you need to be a member to buy anything :)
