Great piece of equipment - got mine for £99 so good price but could be better if you can wait.

What is it??? A deep fat fryer- without the fat ?? :?

Cool. Had my eye on these for a while so I am tempted. Does anyone know if they're any good though. Should I save the cash and stick to oven chips?!

Had ours a few months now and it is great. Chips are great as are roast potatoes(had today) It gets used twice a week. Done chicken stir fry and chilli in it too but mainly just for chips and roasties.

It may seem expensive but I will never buy oven chips again as they tatse ****. Real chips without all the fat soaked in and no bad frying smell in the house either.

Yes pretty much, it cooks fresh chips with only 1 spoon of oil. They dont taste the same obviously as they're not greasy etc and you don't need to change the oil etc.

Also cooks pretty much anything-sausages are awesome, no to be fat added. roast potatoes or parsnips in just a spoon of oil. Also can do stir fry style food. Comes complete with a recipie book.

All comes apart and can be put in the dishwasher for cleaning-not electrical bit obviously!!

Although I have to say, oven chips have never tasted so good as when in that! Good when we want a quick meal without potato peeling!

tbh i think only fools buy rubbish like this, so what it cooks with less oil, everything is fine in moderation, i always use kitchen towel after i deep fry. in my eyes its a scam and only the foolish buy rubbish like this,. ffs you have to be insane to pay this for a chip pan and after trying the chips from a demo of this i wouldnt pay £10 never mine this insane amount.
#10
I so want one of these. Guilt free chips day and night. Sounds like a dream come true! I've entered a compo to win one, but I won't know if i've won until Feburaryish.

I can see what you are saying to a point but always hated the smell the house was left with after deep frying either in a chip pan or a deep fryer and cleaning a fryer is a pain so it is well worth the money to me.

Cool, thanks for that. If I got one of these I would have to get a bigger kitchen as I am running out of space with all my gadgets!

Im not so sure that people who buy these are fools. Have you seen the price of cooking oil recently? One of these would pay for itself in no time. Would love one but think they will come down in price further so am going to wait.

Not that I care about it but still. lol.

I got one in August and apparently I'm a fool... It's awesome, when you use good potatoes the chips come out awesome. Also awesome are Oven chips, Chicken Legs and sausages :)

I did a search and the last post for an actifry was Dixons which is now expired so apologies but now at least people know.

I would love one of these as i have a small kitchen and the fat fryer stinks for days after using it , my kids love home made chicken nuggets and this would be perfect , can anyone tell me how long do chips take to cook in this and roughly what amount of portions per cook can i expect.
#20
waiting till they come down in price to around £50.

"As for only a fool would buy one of these"...what a fool
Also it's less likely to burn your whole house down if you usually fry and less chance of getting scolded if hot oil if it tips over. If you do eat oven chips then you'd have to admit most come out burnt, dry or soggy (well thats my experience.). my sister did some for me the other day using one of these and were the best french fries id ever had cooked at home.

Its a bit cheaper at £119.00 @ Amazon.co.uk, for those who have vouchers perhaps.
They were actually £99 in Cosco around xmas time last year.

No they're that price in Costco now, but not everyone has membership lik me.

We already know about the Amazon posts-have you not read the earlier posts seeing as it is you who bullies posters for this in other cases?
#23
Ive no experience whatsoever of these, but the Which magazine review of them wasnt great.
#24
I woul dlove one of these but know I would only ever make chips in it so can't really justify it.

Is it not on special soon in Costco? Sorry to those who can't get in to Costco! I love that place, Lol! My US friends (where Costco started) call it the "$200 Dollar store". Those who go there will understand why!
#25
I really want one of these. All the members at my Slimming World group reckon they're great - they even had a demo by one of the members, but I missed it. Hoping they'll come down in price or there is a discount voucher etc for somewhere soon!
Hot hot hot

I have had mine for over 6 months now. Brilliant. Does not only chips, but sugared bananas, chilli. Have been recommending it to all my mates so much healthier option. Granted it is a bit expensive, if they reduce the price perhaps they would sell more, but in my opinion well worth the money.
#27
They are very nice indeed (got it reduced from Amazon a few months ago) but it's too expensive really for what it is.
We use it a lot and it is great. I totally agree with the comments about the lack of fat smell, that makes a big difference.

Just pointing out that this particular "Deal" is cheaper elsewhere mate, i meant no offense.
I know it sucks when this happens after posting what you think is a bargain though :-(

All the best!

For 1Kg of unpeeled potatoes it takes about 30 - 40 minutes (depending if you like them crispy or rock solid)
