Don't get carried away by the high RRP. You can buy these Tefal pans in your local Wilkinsons for the same price (without Jamie's endorsement). These were originally over-priced and have come down to the normal value. Cold.

As to the quality. They are good but not as good as the Essential range from Tefal (coating doesn't last long).

I have had two of these in use daily for the last two years and they are as good as new. The problem is people use too high of a heat with these pans and the coating goes. I never use heat higher that 2/3rds of the dial.

Thanks for your comment. I will try to use less heat on the normal pans and see if I still get scratches with wooded/plastic utensils.

I can use my Essential wok at heighest temparatures without effecting the coating at all.

These look like the base spec tefal pans. I'm suprised because Jamie Oliver tefal is normall only on the top end cookware - http://www.tefal.co.uk/All+Products/Cookware/Jamie+Oliver/jamie-oliver.htm

I wish Jamie Oliver didn't use metal utensils in non stick pans on his tv programmes. He's always banging and crashing pots and pans, potato mashers etc on tv - he looks really heavy handed and clumsy in the kitchen. Nothing wrong with his recipes or indeed his enthusiasm for cooking, but I reckon he wrecks a lot of his kitchen equipment!

I've had 3 of these red dot frying pans.
The first I returned as a blackened egg got stuck to it, I could have cleaned it using a pad but it would have took the non-stick coating off. (The phone rang)

The other two - the red circle lasts about a year, you could burn your face because you have to look closer to see if the red has reached temperature.
The coating eventually flakes - in it's short life time you will consume it. Binned both.

Life time guarantee - probably cheaper to buy another one rather than return to France+costs.

I recommend the not stick pans from Aldi/Lidl.

I bought a deep pan with glass lid for £6.99 from Aldi a good 5yrs ago and it's still non-stick. I fry burgers with out oil with it.

Tip: You don't need the red dot - just wait for the blue smoke.

Great price! Hot from me :)

Voted cold, cheaper from Amazon as far as I can tell!

I compared this one with the tefal frying pan from wilko
with the wilko tefal frying pan you get one pan (24cm) for £15

so this is worth the price since your getting two !

Cost co do an excellent heavy duty cast pair, i think they werew £25 but they are the nads. Very heavy, you can really feel the quality

Appear to be all gone now - won't let me add to my shopping bag. :(

Everything with JO's name on it has a ridiculous RRP. Same from Amazon for £12.60 here:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0027P88RS/ref=nosim/?tag=hotukdeals-21

And this is nearly 400 degrees - what's wrong with you HUKDers - blinded by 'celebrity endorsement'?

Don't get mugged!
