I have one of these, as I thought it was a brilliant idea. It's pretty good for cooking eggs and stuff, but you can't toast normal bread in the regular way as it doesn't fit properly, you have to turn the bread sideways, and even then some types of bread don't fit which is really odd. Warbutons Farmhouse bread fits a treat sideways though haha.
#12
also...you need to have a Makro card....so not for everyone...
#13
The misses wants one of these. does the toast and egg finish cooking at the same time or do you have to start one before the other to time it right.

She likes her toast done medium.

This is a good price I will be going to get one from Enfield Makro hot from me.

Breakfast for one person though?

We like poached eggs on toast for breakfast sometimes - but I'd rather sit down at the same time as my missus and eat together.

We bought one of the 4 egg poaching pans from TK Maxx for £5.

Free range or organic eggs make a big difference to the taste (and size) of the yolk.

when i read 'egg maker' i assumed it would create eggs! as in like chickens!

The eggs and toast are ready at the same time. I've had one for a couple of months and I think it's great. Wish it did 4 slices of toast and two poached eggs though, although it will boil 4 eggs at once

They need to make something that'll turn the egg rapidly into chicken breast, i would definitely by it were this the case.

Yes it's a shame they don't do the big version like this one from the states. I'd snap one up like a shot, need a new toaster too, this one would save all the kerfuffle with a 4 shot poacher on the hob! Can't find a UK seller for this anywhere :( Be nice if it were big enough to do proper bread not just muffins too.

I have been using mine for about a year. Really easy to use and very convenient... however;

Toaster only browns the bottom 2/3rds of a normal slice

Eggs can over-cook so I use less water than recommended and it works fine
It's great for doing the poached egg, 2 slices of toast and I usually chuck some mushrooms or a tomato in the tray-thing too.

mmmmm

Surprised you didn`t advise them to get an egg poacher from the pound-shop :whistling:

Can you stick baked beans in the cooking pot thingemyjig? This thread is rather funny for some reason, and I'm not even tipsy.

I don't think so but the manual I found on a USA website suggests you can put cooked sausages or bacon in to be warmed. I think it's a great idea, shame the two egg version doesn't seem to be available here.

I paid £35 for one of these on Christmas Eve ( it wasn't a prezzi) and I must say I like it! You can have hard boiled eggs (4) or poached,I would say 2 eggs max. My first one was broken but my second on is fine. I don't have a Makro card, just aswell!

Seen this a few months ago in one of those little gadget books (would you believe?).

I can't remember exactly how much it was, but know it was £40+. Will hopefully get one at this price though.

Voted hot, thanks.
#37
wow i want one of these, i can never be bothered cooking my egg, dont have a makro near me though :x
#38
It's really easy to use, results are great as well.

I could never be bothered to boil the water, watch the egg and keep an eye on the toast the 'old-fashioned' way.

This way it takes around 10 seconds to set up then I just leave it to do its funky thang.

I paid £30 months ago, and I use it around 3 times a week.

just a word of warning on a makro pruchase, they wont accept returns on all their products. On ur receipt they have a small asterix next to products some they will take back some they wont. For eg i bought an epson printer from them in April last year, it broke down a couple of months ago, phoned them they said i had to take it to the manufacturer as they dont cover under their warranty as theyre a warehouse their policy is different and this applies to a lot of their products... a bit dissapointing as ur unaware of this at the time of purchase!
