good deal 5 years parts and labour..also free replacement on site for first two years..free delivery next day and a beautiful tele as well.great deal.was just about to list myself
The Teleland warranty is the normal Hannspree 2 year collect and return that you get with Intekx (manufacturers warranty) and they offer the 3 years return to base on top of that. This info is on the website

CS
Decided to go with intekx. 5 yr warrenty is return to base and you have to pay for carriage. Plus some bad reviews of teleland on avforums.
I need a TV just for an Xbox 360 and Wii, so this looks great.

Just wondering if I should go for with or without freeview...
I've added a price and retailer name to the thread title. Thanks.

Hardly evidence, which threads ?

You're simply talking rubbish!

I can see why you call yourself grumpyone. Go back to bed and get out the other side pal :whistling:

Plenty of discussion in other threads about this. basically they will give you what the TV is worth second hand.

Read this article. You should be able to get back the FULL purchase price, but retailers will try and fob you off with less.

3. Commission a repair: Ask the retailer to repair or replace the goods. If the repair cost is disproportionate the retailer can offer a refund of the original purchase price, though probably not a full refund. If the shop makes life difficult you can ask go to an independent repairer and reclaim the whole cost. Make sure they provide evidence of the fault.

Help anyone please................

This TV is 1080i input capable so should I set my PS3 to 1080i output and let the TV downscale to 720P or should I output 720P from the PS3?

Thanks for any guidance.

I did read the PS3 will only output blu-ray movies at 480P anyway unless the TV is 1080P which is a bit of a downer if true.
Ordered mine yesterday from teleland and arrived this morning. First impressions are mediocre on freeview but then I hear you have to run it for a good few hours for it to settle down. Anyone know a website explaining the burning in process? Thanks.

The last 3 years of the warranty are return to base... The first two, they collect it & return it at their expense.
According to the (downloadable) guarantee card, this 5 year warranty is only RTB (return to base). This means you pay for postage and insurance each time the set goes wrong, which could prove expensive. Other TV maker are a little more epensive but offer on-site warranty which could be the cheaper option in the long run. I agree with the comment about Aldi. Their 'Special Offers' on electronics have recently become a joke (far too expensive), what are you doing Aldi?
How in Gods name is a 40" deal from aldi at over £550 with c**p warranty getting voted hotter than this? at least i'd remotely heard of Hannspree! the worlds going mad!!!!
I bought this exact deal from teleland with the 5 year warranty about 6months ago :) I love my Hannspree :)

Voted hot.

Can get this cheaper on ebuyer, but without 5 year warranty. For the extra £25, an extra 4 years is great value.

Voted hot.

The only reason i posted was because of the warranty and delivery, as you said worth the extra £25 it is over the ebuyer deal!

Sorry, not meaning to be argumentative, but I think you're misinformed.

The contract is between the consumer and the retailer after the normal period post transaction that is covered by the credit card company - circa 90 days.

You're right in saying they're responsible to a fashion for the transaction, but the agreement entered into regards the extended warranty is between the aforementioned parties.

You could be right.

I may be getting confused with a 'Credit Agreement' whereby, I'm sure the credit company is responsible till the end of the transaction.

Has anyone tried claiming from their Credit Card for faulty goods after, say, 90 days?
Lucifer
The credit card company is equally responsible for the transaction. Should the company fail to deliver exactly what it promises, then the credit card takes responsibility.
If you buy something over the net/phone, and the goods don't arrive, call the credit card company for a full refund.

That isnt a 5 year guarantee! if the TV arrives then thats the credit card companies liability over with. Most credit cards offer 90 days accidental damage cover too.

Where can I get your credit card?:giggle:

Seriously, that won't work.

Pay by Credit Card. That way, if the receipt says 5 year warranty, you're covered for 5 years with your Credit Card company, if the company goes tits -up.

not charcoal grey i ment 'charcoal black' lol. tuff day me little boy kept me up most of the nite!
luckily im not planing on hooking it up to a pc!
maybe thats why other reviews talk about the picture going a little funny, cos they experiment b4 reading the manual lol!

the blacks on mine is still quite black but i think i can see what peeps r on about it turning more charcoal grey. but so far its holding blacks fine.
Definately 1080i (but you'll want to stick to 720p anyway), when I tried setting my HDMI DVD to 1080p output as an experiment, the set went completely black with an 'out of range' message. I then had to disconnect the dvd player and hook it up to a CRT so I could change it back.
According to the manual it states if you try setting it to the wrong resolution whilst being used as a PC monitor, you can physically damage the set - so I think I'll stop experimenting now

oh and the standard def is 720p, although it supports up 1080p.
this far it looks gud but only had it a few days!
but the only thing i can see is that the dark images are a little blocky but not overly bad.
