Are these actually any good? What sort of size branches can these cut? I am thinking about getting a pro in to trim my 20ft tree - however if this is any good then I could probbaly do it myself.

Their great, Borrowed the neighbours to trim our tree.

Hi, bought one of these a couple of years ago, it was almost impossible to use, it broke within two hours. Absolute rubbish.
#4
worth a shot imo; if it's carp then take it back
same things are £20 in B&Q http://www.diy.com/diy/jsp/bq/nav/nav.jsp?isSearch=true&fh_search=tree+lopper&selected=products&x=0&y=0

They are great , ideal as i did all my apple trees last year, and cherry trees also

great buy at that price, heat added :-)

Used 1 of these 2 weeks ago to chop a load of branches off a tree at home, was very impressed with how sharp the saw was. Would be cheaper to buy one of these than get somebody in even if you throw the pruners away afterwards !

Cheers for the advice guy's. Will give one of these ago, if it's useless I haven't lost too much.

picked one up today - seems to work ok, saw attachment is sharp too

I have used one of these in the course of my landscaping work and it's pretty good. Has a very long reach and has a good sharp cut. For the price it's a bargain compared to my pro tools.
It lasted me around one season of pretty heavy use and was lightweight too.
The blade can easily snag on twigs and is best removed if only pruning.

Good buy and hot from me :)

I have had one for a year or so now and found it to be pretty good.

What I cant understand is the point of just posting stuff straight out of their leaflets. Its not really a hot deal is it.

hot - these are great for bushed/small branches. wouldn't recommend it for thick branches, but still really useful

Bought one today, worked a treat.
Magpie nest and surrounding branches all gone, before anyone says anything about cruelty to magpies ...the nest was just finished had no eggs or young in yet -last year the offending magpies killed off the baby birds in our garden we watched them snatch up the fledglings of the smaller species feeding in our garden.... so a thumbs up to this deal .
