Can't understand why some of your deals/dvds you post are only a penny or 2 cheaper than elsewhere? This is £5 @ Play.com. It's nothing personal, but if we all start listing dvds etc that are only a penny more elsewhere, the site will get flooded with every dvd going!

Simple point is this is the cheapest that there is available. Elsewhere it can retail up to £12.99. So this is the best deal. If I didn't post it then who would know where the cheapest to buy it is. As Xmas is coming up people will be looking for cheap stuff to buy, say as a stocking filler. So, in the case of this post. Mum or Dad might be browsing through HUKD looking for a bargain for their Teletubbies loving toddler. So, here it is, posted. Isn't that the point of HUKD? So people can have a look at it and find a good deal without trawling through the internet, visiting various websites to find a good or the cheapest deal available; whether it be a DVD, a game, a toy, a CD etc etc. I have had loads of thankful comments for DVD's and other products that I have posted from grateful parents, so despite your "why post 'cos someone else is selling it a penny dearer" comments I shall keep posting if I think I've found a bargain to help people find a cheap Xmas present.

I take your point and the principle is fine - but remember this is HOT uk deals, not EVERY deal/dvd going! A deal isn't hot just because you list it, and especially when everywhere else is pretty much the same price. Unfortunately, like I said, the site would soon be bogged down if you start listing every dvd just because you think it's a good deal cos it's cheaper than rrp (what dvd isn't?!). We're all here to save money, so if it's 50p, £1 whatever less than anywhere else that's one thing, but 1p??? Think you have to draw the line somewhere over what you perceive to be a bargain.

I'm not being funny, and really can't be bothered, but can I just say "Pot calls kettle black". You posted a game "deal" the other day which was £17.91 + Quidco @ Asda; but it is £17.73 + Quidco. So, that's cheaper!??!

This Teletubbies DVD is retailing for between £5.99 and £12.79 elsewhere. If there were 4 or 5 places selling it around the same price I wouldn't post it. Yes, it's £5 @ Play, but HMV and Play are the two cheapest by at least a quid so it's a deal and the HMV one with Quidco is the best. End of.

The Asda game post you're referring to is correct and was/is the cheapest outside of the Hut group - you're comparing it to The Hut's price, but Asda, The Hut, Lovefilm, Sendit , Currys Entertainment and a few others are ALL part of the Hut group distribution, hence why their prices are usually the same or a few pennies different. Therefore in comparing the next cheapest price, it would essentially have been around £24 elsewhere - not £17.73.

Tip: In other words, when 1 drops the price, the others all drop too (within a few pence of each other), so when comparing the next cheapest deal, you can ignore all the Hut's group prices and next cheapest will be whoever isn't part of the group.

You've posted some good deals and I've accordingly voted them hot, but when it's just a penny or 2 elsewhere, sorry but I don't think many would perceive that to be a hot deal.

I really don't want to carry this converstion on anymore. But my understanding is that if I post the cheapest deal, albeit by 1p then you think that's wrong; but if you post a deal, which is cheaper elsewhere, then that's fine. Please stay clear of my posts in future, and I shall do likewise with your posts.

Read my post above carefully - I did NOT post a deal that was cheaper elsewhere, Asda & the Hut are part of the same group, Asda dropped to £17.91 first - that's when I posted - followed later that day by the Hut @ 20p less. The point is, the next cheapest elsewhere, and outside of the Hut group, was around £24.

This is a fab DVD, my little one LOVES Teletubbies and Christmas so will be thrilled with the two put together lol. Thanks!

It's amazing how cheap DVD's are nowadays, my eldest is almost 14 and I remember buying him a Teletubbies VIDEO and I'm sure it was about £15!
