Bargain. I have 3 of these and they provide excellent coverage, quick setup and fast speeds. Not had any issues in the past 3 months, Far better than the Belkin I previously owned.

Works for XBOX live too in repeater mode..

I have tried to do this but had no luck whatsoever ... followed the instructions to the letter and I'm also tech savvy ....the tenda could see my other router but just couldn't seem to link them......for some reason when i set the I.P. on the tenda I couldn't log back into it....

If you could PM me how you managed it I would greatly appreciate it.

Good price for a wireless N any day of the week though

Can you use WDS with 4 of them? I already have 2 (not set them up yet though )

This price is insane - hope it works!

just bought 2, belta!

Hot. Got a couple last time round and they're really good as repeaters etc. Got one streaming from my lads xbox and another streaming to my media player in the bedroom from my nas.

If you're looking at repeating and you only have one of these, make sure your current router can work in this mode. If it can't, buy another one of these will sort it and a good deal at this price.

Are you running any VMWare software or equivelant? A mate was having the same problem of setting an IP then it wouldn't reconnect... turned out his VMWare NIC configuration in device manager was already set to the same IP.

Run ipconfig /all and see what adaptors are being listed.

DD-WRT should have a repeater mode on it. What you need to do is enable WDS on this Tenda router, then hit the scan button, it should pick up the DD-WRT router, select this one. Set the channel on both routers to the same one.

Disable DHCP on the Tenda if your repeating from it, make sure you set an IP within the IP range of the DD-WRT one. Set encryption as well if you're using this.
Reboot Tenda.

Set up the DDR-WRT as a repeater and I imagine you will have to put in the MAC addy of the Tenda in a list (MAC is on the base of the Tenda).

Remember, if you need to access the Tenda again, the default IP won't apply, you will need to put in the static IP you assigned on the last config.

not compatible accoring to the compatibility list

Noobo-question: Can I use this to make my current ADSL Modem/router N-compatible? Ie hardwire this to the ADSL using the ADSL modem and disabling it's wireless?

Just set it to client mode, and connect it as a wireless client to your main router, should work fine.

I'm wondering the same - there's two rooms upstairs at ours where the wireless connection is very poor.

Bought one of these and was hoping to swop out my old Linksys WRT54G. Unfortunately the Tenda has a fairly small list of supported DynDNS providers, and mine (ZoneEdit) wasn't in it :( So be aware if dynamic DNS is important to you.
#22
This doesn't work with DD-WRT according to the list and the forums.

If this model is the one with the 2MB chip then it'll never have DD-WRT support (as the firmware is >2MB)
#23
Heat and Rep added, just bought one for my father to replace his dying 8 year old Dlink wireless router. This should be a nice improvement i think.
#24
Does anyone know if I could use this as a wireless repeater with a Linksys WAG54GS? I can't work out if it will do the job or not. Looking to extend range into a few more rooms. Appreciate it if anyone can help!
#25
I got one of these from ebuyer posted on here a few months back , turned up the very next day ! Since then i have hooked up my ps3 wirelessly and bought a HTC desire which is fantastic on the wifi .
If i wasnt so overdrawn id order another one now for my folks .

Just to give people an idea of what options etc. there is with this router, here's a couple of screen grabs of the main WDS option menu:

I got one of these last time and it's brilliant. Never any connection problems. However, it was tricky to set up because the installation cd wouldn't work.
#28
Would this replace my Netgear dg834gt? (And plug straight into the bt wall socket)
My laptops often lose a connection and I'd like to replace it totally.

i think you need 2 unless your sky router is wireless N already. i have a netgear wireless G and a DD-WRT'd fonera bridged to my xbox360, works okay but obviously speed is not great.

for best range and speed you probably need N on both ends of your network. ordered 2 already anyone has this working for xbox live pls heads up on setting this up.

thanks in advance

To those that have had problems setting these bad boys up in repeater mode. Here's a tip if youre having probelms. I'm very tech savy and only found this out by chance.......When in repeater mode set it to G not N and see if your problems stop.

Glad I got my order in last night - 16.98 + delivery now.
