Lloydspharmacy TENS Machine

How does TENS work?
Pads are placed on or near the area of pain. Soothing pulses are sent via the pads through the skin and along the nerve fibres. The pulses (controlled by the user at all times) suppress pain signals to the brain. TENS also encourages the body to produce higher levels of its own natural pain killing chemicals called Endorphins and Encephalins

Who will TENS work for?

TENS is a highly effective treatment for pain. It is used worldwide and recommended by sports coaches, physiotherapy departments, pain clinics, doctors and other medical practitioners. A TENS unit will ease pain, and should result in a decrease of drug intake! For many the relief is dramatic.

Numerous painful medical conditions can be eased with our TENS Machine including:-

Rheumatoid and Osteo-arthritis, Cancer Pain, Phantom Limb Pain, Sports Injuries, Sciatica, Aching Joints, Muscular Pain Whiplash and Neck Injury, Back pain, Menstrual Pain, Shingles, Headache and Migraine.

* Not suitable for use with Pacemakers or other implanted medical devices or for people with heart rhythm problems. Not suitable for use during pregnancy or labour.

i do a lot of weight training and cardio and have had a problematic shoulder and this really relieves the pain, its not a long term fix but it is very good and very easy to use. having also studied these machines as part of my dissertaion i highly recommned this for such a bargain price.

p.s. my first deal so go easy please ;)

Guys,
Please say why this is a cold deal, it looks rather good to me.
#2
Looks a great price to me voted hot. I might pop in for one of these for the back ache. Just not sure how you can fit one yourself for your back.
#3
When you say it numbs out pain - does it numb out the pain of being married to my wife?
#4
Not suitable for use during pregnancy or labour.
#5
Also not suitable to some types of Arthiritus sufferers.
#6
Anyone know if this actually works though or is it one of those mind things where people 'think' it works - placebo effect.

If its as good as it says then I would of thought it would be a miracle treatment?

These are things that physio's, etc use in the NHS. They're supposed to be quite good for the purpose.

Not this brand - don't know anything about that - but the principle.

My girlfriend suffers from Psoriatic Arthritis at the age of 30. Would this help relieve some of the pain she has in her hands / knees? If so then it would be worth ten times the amount being asked here.

Voted hot. Thanks I know someone who is looking for one of these.

My dad has back pain from time to time & he was in agony on sunday, so on moday morning I bought him one of these plus an additional pack of pads (the extra pads are £2.50 when bought with the tens device). He says it has really helped with his back pain & I'm so glad I bought it now.

I've been reading hukd for a while now but thought it was particularly necessary to put some feedback to this deal in case it could swing someone to buying one. As I said it has really helped my dad.

If "1 in 7 people in the UK suffer from chronic pain" and this machine does what it says, it should be the fastest selling thing! no matter what price!:giggle:

They do work i've had one over ten years, they relieve you of alot of pain.

Don't understand why it says they aren't suitable for use during pregnancy, as they are what the hospital lend pregnant women to control labour pain.

These have been this price for around a year or so, when they advertised the blood pressure monitor yonks ago these were this price, along with the digital thermometer, digital bathroom scales and a few other items that have alledged higher prices and are on a supposed offer. Voted cold.

The medical evidence all points to this being no better than the placebo effect. Please be skeptical and use your brain before spending your money. I'm not saying don't buy it, just see if you can find any evidence (not connected with the commercial entities selling this) to back it up, before you throw hard earned money at it.

I suffer from a lot of neck and back problems. I can't say that the tens machine we have has been a wonder cure, however sometimes it seems to help. My girlfriend has had much more success with it, so in my eyes (and hers) money well spent. I come from a scientific background and am by nature a highly sceptical person. My answer to the above is: If it helps - does it really matter if its placebo or not? Im guessing a lot of people who really suffer wont care if its reducing their pain level.

I heard a similar story from a friend.
They suffered from bad back ache and bought one of these at full price.
Cured their back pain almost straight away as it'd made their wallet lighter.

I was recently loaned a TENS machine from a physio clinic treating my recurring bulging disc problem.
That machine gave me sufficient relief to be able to walk - well, shuffle - with a lot less discomfort.
I bought the Lloyds machine and it is even better! And the price is the same as just a few packs of high potency pain killers!
These machines are superb - I have been saved weeks of chronic pain.

I was given one of these to treat a pain condition I have - mock me if you wish. With one of these on, the pain was terrible and I could never get the dial up from the lowest. So I mainly used it on other people, because if you stick it to them and turn it up hands/arms will move just by nerves. Obviously depending where you stick it on.
