  But just to add - I think there might be a new version coming out in a few months when the new blu ray profiles are released (BD Live) later this year. There is a company working on an HD-DVD HDi release at the moment and I imagine the blu ray release will be given similar treatment. Please correct me if I am wrong.

  I am sure I have read somewhere that a new German release is coming out that is far better than the current release. Not sure if it was Terminator or Terminator 2.

  As far as I know the HD-DVD release you talk of is by Canal+ as they have distribution rights in France. Lionsgate are Blu-ray exclusive and it's the same video encode on both discs...

  It's the best you can get for this film on blu ray at the moment. All I'm saying is that I imagine there will be a new release later this year on BD with more features due to the new format being launched (based on the fact that an equivalent HD-DVD HDi version is being produced at the moment). This is still a great price though.

  Pretty much all HD-DVDs are HDi so I wouldn'read too much into that, but I wouldn't be surprised if a Special-Feature laden version gets released at a later date...there are seemingly hundreds of editions of this film on DVD!

  Thanks Remington that's a lot more useful than my pic! Yeah there are several cheap Lionsgate discs on Amazon.com at the moment - sadly shiping will cost you but I guess it's worth keeping an eye on Movietyme to see if they get the same cheap stock in - T2's price drop on occured earlier today...

  yeah it's labelled region A but is infact region free...I even checked your own (useful thanks) link which confirms this disc plays fine in region B players!
