A deadly shape-shifting assassin (Robert Patrick) is sent back in time to succeed where his cyborg predecessor failed--to eliminate Sarah Connor's son (Edward Furlong) before he gets a chance to make history, leading the humans in a war against the machines. The original cyborg (Arnold Schwarzenegger) also returns, but this time as the boy's protector.

do you have details of this release ?

this version is £4.99 at play:

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/5572959/Terminator-2-Judgement-Day/Product.html

so it's actually not much of a deal, sorry.

The better version is the 'Skynet edition'. £9.99 on play:

http://www.play.com/DVD/Blu-ray/4-/9814145/Terminator-2-Skynet-Edition/Product.html

EDIT: Skynet edition is only £8 on Amazon.

What's the difference in the transfer between the original release and the 'Skynet Edition'?

High def digest say they are the same?

reviews from play.com:

"Someone lent me this disc some months ago, to show me what my blu-ray player was capable of (before I invested any money in more films). I couldn't even finish the film - the image quality was a downgrade from DVD releases (including this film on DVD).
At the time I figured that perhaps old films cannot be improved upon with blu-ray, and shrugged it off. Then I recently bought the Skynet Edition from play, and found an amazingly crisp, clear version of this film. There is no excuse for the poor quality on show here - especially not for a film of this importance!"

"I love this film and couldn't wait to add it to my Blu Ray collection, but after starting to watch it I was appalled at the picture quality, to the extent that I eventually turned it off in disgust."

"I just reviewed the standard edition of this film on blu-ray, giving it 1 star simply for the lack of any clarity in the blu-ray image.
THIS edition, however, more than makes up for it. The video is crisp and clear, and lives up to the "high definition" moniker"

all seem to say the same thing. I haven't seen the standard edition, I bought the Skynet edition from reviews and for the extras.
