Could be a mis-price. This is listed on the website as £10, but when you add it to your cart, it mysteriously becomes £8.47. If you go on to add the FTSL15-1 code, it brings it right down to £7.20.

It is not confirmed which version of the movie you get, but the picture on the site is the Skynet version, which is the best transfer you can currently get.

I'm saying "deal".

Steelbook is out of print, this is what you get instead.

Hmm. Well if it's the same version of the transfer, that's good enough for me.

Not what they're showing on their site, though. Naughty naughty Tesco!
#3
Steelbook is out of print, hence rare and sells for good price on ebay.

But still £7.20 for this blu ray is cheap, so I did vote HOT!
#4
Now this is more like it. Picture is much better on this one. It includes 3 versions of the film to, one of which you have to input a special code on the blu ray to access(im actully being serious).
#5
Ordered thanks. Tried quidco'ing it too. :{
#6
I have the SB :) but this is a great price.
#7
Price on site is £8.47, however I can't see any reference to Skynet edition, either in the picture or in the description (unless I'm being blind??). Cold as theres no proof it is the Skynet edition and £8.47 for the standard one isn't a deal.

John Connor: So this other guy: he's a Terminator like you, right?
The Terminator: Not like me. A T-1000, advanced prototype.
John Connor: You mean more advanced than you are?
The Terminator: Yes. A mimetic poly-alloy.
John Connor: What the hell does that mean?
The Terminator: Liquid metal.

How sure are people that this is the skynet edition?
#10
Ah, from this thread posted back in January.

People did indeed receive the skynet edition of the film, looks good to me!
#11
If you want you can get the skynet edition at Morrisons for £7.99.I use one of there £5 fuel reward vouchers and got it for £2.99
#12
I'm 99% sure this won't be the Skynet edition. I've bought two dvd's from Tesco entertainment in the past that I believed to be special/collector editions because of the picture they'd displayed on the site. I ended up returning both items because they ended up just being the standard criterion editions... rubbish!

I ordered before I read your post but if what you say is true it's quite worrying
#14
For people in the know, how does the Skynet bluray transfer compare to the fantastic German HD-DVD?
#15
I just called Tesco Entertainment and unfortunately was told they cannot confirm either way as the item was despatched straight from their warehouse. The lady at Customer Services did say that she had annotated the order with my query and that if I received the incorrectly advertised version they would supply me with a foc returns address.

Worth a punt, I'd say. Thanks OP.
#16
I'll confirm which version it is when I get it, but the picture on their site is definitely the Skynet edition, and people have received that version when ordering from them previously, as per the thread linked to above. Tesco should really make it clear though, it's lazy that they don't.

EDIT: Also, the other bluray has its own page, here: http://www.tescoentertainment.com/store/blu-ray/terminator-2-judgment-day/8%3a161918/ which leads me to be more confident tha the version here is skynet.
#17
It's worth pointing out that the release date of the Blu-Ray on this page seems to correspond to the release date of the Skynet Edition in the UK, i.e. in June 2009 rather than in 2008 for the ordinary version.
#18
Apparently the picture quality isn't that good on the Skynet Edition either.

Apparently the picture quality isn't that good on the Skynet Edition either.

That criticism is roundly dismissed on nearly all of the major bluray review sites.

Don't take my word for it buddy. I'm just going from my past experience with them, which is the only reason I've not ordered it. Hopefully for your (and everyone else who ordered) sake it is the Skynet edition ;)

Either way, £7.20 is still a good price for a really good film on blu-ray!
#21
Top film!
#22
I doubt this is the skynet version. Tesco entertainment frequently put the wrong images with desciptions. I've been caught out before and ordered a cd thinking it was a special edition, but I received the standard version instead.

Not when Play are selling the standard edition for £4.99 its not.

Er... this is a completely different version. The standard edition a poor transfer, and this is widely acknowledged. It also comes with poor audio and no extras. You're comparing apples and oranges, mate.

Mine arrived this morning, and I can confirm that this is the Skynet Edition, with the good cover (but not steelbook). I'm delighted with this - it's a great deal for £7.20!

Still wasn't the steelbook as pictured then... what a surprise (_;)

Yeah, still a deceptive picture but ultimately it's the same bluray so I'm happy. Did you get one?
