The Terminator saga is back with Terminator Salvation: The Future Begins - the first of three films starring Christian Bale as John Connor.

Set in post-apocalyptic 2018, John Connor (Bale) is the man fated to lead the human resistance against Skynet and its army of Terminators. But the future Connor was raised to believe in is altered in part by the appearance of Marcus Wright (Sam Worthington), a stranger whose last memory is of being on death row. Connor must decide whether Marcus has been sent from the future, or rescued from the past. As Skynet prepares its final onslaught, Connor and Marcus both embark on an odyssey that takes them into the heart of Skynet's operations, where they uncover the terrible secret behind the possible annihilation of mankind.

Just replace 'anyway' with anyone & it'll make sense.

They can have as many exclusive covers as they wish, it won't make one button of difference. It doesn't take away from the fact this movie sucked.

Poor film. Should have left it at 3 or waited until Arnie came out of politics and done T4 with an oap terminator lol

My expectations wernt high for this film. But after watching it i was pretty impressed by it. Solid action flick. Great price to, so heat added.

Seen it three times. I enjoy it.

I also had very low expectations of this, but found it alright even pretty good in places. Certainly more enjoyable than T3, but not a patch on the Original or Judgement Day. Quite a fun game can be had by pointing out the crater size plot holes with a few mates.

Heat added, £5.99 + 5% quidco for a decent looking Blu-ray is a good deal imo.

Imho T2 is the bar by which all sci fi films are judged. this film works well as a member of the terminator franchise.3rd best of the bunch. i loved the retro nature of the terminators too.

Didn't this film kill the franchise despite it being supposedly the first of 3 new Terminator films? It was truly bad, worse (possibly) than T3, and only out done in the rotten eggs stakes by Wolverine and Tron Legacy.

What happened to plot and dialogue to go along with the action in Sci Fi films? You can have both you know...

£6 for a bluray is good price i guess, but this film isn't worth £6 of anyone's money. Cold due to poor content.

anybody watched this "directors cut"?, is it better than the theatrical version

Should have left it at 2 you mean? 3 was terrible, added nothing new. This was an ok action film but a poor terminator film

It was good fun I thought. Not great, certainly not on the same page as T2 but by no means a let down. This is a great price.

You want me me trash your lights? You want me to f****ing trash em?!!

I think it was better than 3. Either way why hate on the franchise, I rather have a terminator film than nothing at all. Shame they canned the Sarah Corner series, definately could of been next Battlestar if they invested in it. We need a new X Files or Battlestar or even Star Trek, no new decent Sci Fi on :(.

Looking forward to T5. Thanks op, ordered :)

I watched this expecting nothing and quiet enjoyed it some nice touches and some great scenes to make it worthwhile watching on bluray.
Why doesnt someone maybe continue the Sarah Conor chronicles into films maybe if tv studios won't sanction another series.
I miss summer glau :(
Judgement day still looks awesome they raised the bar so high when they made that.

Nerd Alert:

Something didn't add up in T2 when I rewatched it again on Blu ray. The bit when Arnie gets lowered into the molten steel, wouldn't the nuclear power cells inside him cause an explosion? lol wiping John and Sarah out?. We found out in T3 when the power cells get damaged they go bang, and again in T4, the bit when the kid picks up a cell and John tells her they are dangerous.

Thoughts?

we need an x files film to finish where they left it with the show.

Fringe is pretty good, the event is filling a hole till something better comes along

Not seen it and worth a punt on blu ray for that price. :)

Save your money :)
Recent release films on blu ray going this cheap (especially a directors cut) are cheap for a reason because they are generally accepted as crap

I have seen it and can personally say this is definately the case with this movie. 33% on rotten tomatoes and even the plus reviews can't exactly be held up as high praise.

Have to agree - wasn't expecting much but was surprised by how good this film was. Should have been the the third NOT fourth film. I thought they managed to use loads of the classic lines without sounding too chessey. Effects were also superb - especially CGI Arnie!

I am obsessed with only collecting normal slipcase's (OCD). Is this 'exclusive' just a slip cover or is the actual blu-ray case different?
#27
I think its a case & the disk is inside the skull like the watchmen dr manhattan hmv exclusive was.

Could be wrong though.I also really liked this film and would buy if i didn't have the steelbook.

I really didn't like this but good price if you did.

Sums up my feelings.

Seems to me everyone thinks T2 is the best film. T1 is where its at, no crazy CGI or particularly massive action scenes but its got the best feel imo. Arnie when he was scary and foreboding, ripping out hearts with his bare hands, not the comic relief he was in T2, practicing his lines for kindergarden cop and jingle all the way.

Only reason T2 was more toned down was the pg15 rating. Got my T4 yesterday, box looks cool :)
