CEX are crap

Why do CEX deals go to the CEX homepage rather than the actual deal page?

Saw this the other day, I was going to post it but forgot. Weird they still have so many in stock I think.

They reduced prices drastically recently - a quick look at the nos. of Lost 6 br's will give a clue why - charge higher than net prices and offer some more cash/exchange than cost in buying/trade-in. A strange business model, but I suppose it worked for Virgin/Zavvi and Woolies and co. for years on the High Street... whatever happened to them?

Just a hint - don't hang on to any vouchers as, ... well, the above explains.

Trust me, if the queues in their Manchester stores are anything to go buy then CEX will not be going out of business any time soon.

Like Cash Generator and Cash Convertors, CEX thrive on a lot of poorer people and manage to make a lot of money by allowing people to trade in pretty much anything home entertainment related for that latest game, film or even LCD TV that they want and they make a killing from it. Their prime audience isn't people like us, it's the less affluent members of society, young kids and crackheads.

I think the queues say more about Manchester than about CEX! LOL.

What sort of profit did their recent Balance Sheet show? Their Annual Profit & Loss account? It's just that I have sold many items to them over the years when they charge more than the best online price to sell and offer to buy at a profit for me. They then have tens or hundreds of loss-making movies which are reduced in price weekly. It would be interesting if you have an Annual Account to hand to see where the profit is made.

Incidentally, I live in the reputed drugs capital of Europe, so if the immigrant Manc users/dealers that I've met here keep the local store open, the happier I'll be.

I love CEX! I use them all the time!
