I thought this was a good series. A bit rushed at the end due to the writer's strike, which was a shame, as I was really getting into it by then. Certainly worth a watch IMHO.

Excellent show!. Season 2 is due to air in Septemeber .

Ohhh, didn't know that. Thanks for the heads up. Hopefully they will get a few more episodes next time.

Summer Glau kicking a** again is worth it on its own! ;-)

Might pick this up when I go to the states at the end of August as the boxset is not due out until the middle of August

Oooh, tempting! This was a great show, I loved it. The second season is 13 episodes so far, but however many they cram in, the run will be over by December! Same with Prison Break - they're cramming in the whole of season four between the end of August and xmas.

Looks like the UK is getting it a week earlier than the US!

Oh hang on - was just about to order this then realised - do we know if it's going to be region locked yet?
banned#8
i think it will be region free, hopefully someone can confirm?

Ive been told Warner Blu Rays are usually region Free. hopefully this is no different
#9
The Amazon site says it's a Warner Home Video release, but it's broadcast on Fox in the US. Prison Break is a Fox programme, and that Blu-Ray was region locked - as are all Fox releases. Hmm...might hold fire on this one.

DVDTimes with their DVD and BD articles for US both say Warner release and the BBFC listing here in UK say distributor is Warner.

I think the confusion is that the show is independently produced by Warner for the Fox Network in the US, is like other Warner shows there e.g. Without a Trace on CBS and ER on NBC, both have DVDs from Warner.
#11
Are blu ray worth the extra cost?

Haha, if I hit CTRL-V right now, I'd be posting the same thing. Sod it, I'm going to risk it! No reason for it to be locked anyway, as it's been on TV here and we're getting it before them anyway!

Just checked the site below and it says the disc is region A/B/C so should work on any player

It always depends on how much extra cost you are talking about, but for me yes worth it bigtime!! Always buy them online at sendit/play.com/movietym instead of retail though as they really take the p like with everything else on the high st.

it was only 9 episodes thou wasn't it i think

Yes, but considering this is going for £29.99 for the UK version, under £18 is a great price.

It says on the amazon site that it's region 1 only.

My son absolutely loved this when it was shown on Virgin 1. If this is region 1 would it still play on his PS3, or are they region locked if you have a European one?
#21
I would wait, both Movietyme & Blu-Ray.com say it is Region A, but it may change.
#22
good price for a really good series, acting is good n the story exciting n the lass from firefly makes a cracking terminator, only problem is its a little rushed at the end, hopefully the next series can deliver as well as this did

It says that for everything though.

Before I watched it I was sure it would be rubbish , I was very wrong. a truly excellent series.

The episode towards the end when a swat team confront Cromity at a motel is one of the best pieces of film making ever, the camera angle from the bottom of the swimming pool combined with the music/song makes it a stunning scene.

Totally agree - I realised afterwards it was probably because they didn't have a budget for a big action scene, but it worked soooooo well with what they did. Gave me goosebumps!

There was an affiliate link in the one you posted, where you cut n pasted it from that other forum - I guess that's why it was changed. :)

For anyone who has ordered this, it has now been confirmed as region free, hurray!

http://movietyme.blogspot.com/2008/08/terminator-sarah-connor-chronicles.html

It's now also the same price from MovieTyme as Amazon US.
#39
Just a heads up - I didn't realise that the Pound/Dollar exchange rate had changed a bit recently, so it's now actually a bit cheaper to get it from MovieTyme! It's £17.99 delivered from there, and at the current rate it's £18.40 from Amazon (possibly more, depends on your credit card issuer's exchange rate). I've cancelled my Amazon order and gone for Movietyme - at least I know how much I'm going to pay! :-D
#40
Me again. :-D I ordered from MovieTyme at 10:30 yesterday - had a despatch notice before midday. So they obviously have the stock (strangely you can pay £2 more for 'Same Day Despatch) and are sending it out 5 days earlier than Amazon will as well...

Also noticed yesterday that the UK release is £33 instore at HMV, Zavvi and WH Smith, which makes this price even sweeter. :)
