Picking up where TERMINATOR 2 - JUDGEMENT DAY left off, THE SARAH CONNOR CHRONICLES continues the epic battle of man against machine. Having successfully defeated one Terminator in the previous film, Sarah (Lena Headey, RIPLEY'S GAME) realises that the world is no longer a safe place for her or her teenage son John (Thomas Dekker, TV's HEROES). So she makes it their mission to bring down Skynet, the artificial intelligence system responsible for causing all this robo-mayhem. But how do you outmanoeuvre an ever-evolving technology that's hell-bent on wiping out the entire human race? With great difficulty, it turns out. Not only are they being hunted by a bunch of time-travelling, renegade cyborgs, but they're also on the run from the law. Salvation comes in the form of a human-friendly Terminator named Cameron (Summer Glau, SERENITY), who befriends John and serves as their protector. FBI Agent James Ellison, who is originally assigned to capture the Connors, ends up joining their resistance against Cyberdyne Corporation, the company behind Skynet. This release presents every episode from the second series of the sci-fi spinoff.

I enjoyed the first serise but after hearing that it got puled at the end of season two without a conclusion, I just can't be bothered to watch more.
Good price though.

The ending does leave a bit to the imagination but still worthwhile. They were discussing a film to wrap it up but haven't heard much in a few months.

Shame it got cancelled. It was certainly better than the Salvation movie. It's also a good excuse to watch Summer Glau.

Thanks, been waiting for this to come down in price.

I thought the final 5 episodes of Series 2, were some of the best of the whole lot. Although it did have a cliffhanger, it was very satisfying in that it did end the chronicles well. If this has led into the new Terminator films, i think the films would have been a lot better, just have to hope there is a TV movie to tie up the cliffhanger, although I doubt it with the new franchise.

Not voting on the deal either way. Just wanted to pass opinion on the series for the sake of it for those who haven't seen it but are fans of the first two movies - imo it's simply awful compared to the two Cameron Terminators. Which you'd sort of expect, as there's only one Arnie capable of pulling off that role in that fashion and this isn't a movie, just a series with a different budget, so expectations should be lower - but yeah, despite all that, the acting is ridiculously bad in this imo, the dialogue is infested with cheese and the plot is just all over the place. It would have been so much better had they actually casted people who suited the roles better, as Cameron did, instead of going for typical glossy teen-appealing heart-throbs with more looks than acting ability. Someone like Linda Hamilton would instantly have been rejected for this type of series, which is a big shame as there are alot of talented actors and actresses out there.

I mean, look at this pick for example:

Hardly inspiring fear or a sense of the world's doom, is it? I mean, is this Terminator or a teen James Bond? Take the pistol out of that girl's hand, give them a few sharp teeth, and you could re-advertise that poster as Twilight: The Series.

Not meaning to attack those who liked it, to each their own, but I think it was a pretty good decision to cancel the show early on. Should never have been given the green light in the first place. Hopefully if they do look to make money out of Terminator in the future, we see an adult series of anime (similar to Matrix/Chronicles of Riddick) that might do the franchise justice for once.

Rant over :w00t:

I agree with you, this is nothing like T1&T2, those two movies are in a different league.... BTW there is a mechinima animated series for Terminator, not sure how good it is though. http://www.machinima.com/series/view&id=214#

I must say that as a tv show I did enjoy this. It is what it is, and thats a USA tv show with plots you can drive a truck through, which is what I expected.

It is America and we know what they are like, can't even drill a hole straight and then blame a nation. In times of adversity their president does play a good round of golf I'm told.

I must admit I don't need an excuse to watch Summer Glau.

I enjoyed this 10 times more that Avatar or Hurt Locker

Dollar for Dollar, It gets a thumbs up from me.
