These were around £140 - £150 when they were on the Tesco Direct site, I know we will have the people who will say you should spend more on bikes, but with the rate kids grow, I think the time for more expensive brands is when they're a bit older. Both my girls have cheaper bikes & have done very well on them so far & that is despite their dad being a very keen cyclist for many years having taken part in both road & mtb trials.

The Terrain Hallam rigid boys' mountain bike is perfect for leisurely rides and hitting the trails. With a rugged 14-inch steel diamond frame, 20-inch spoked wheels and 6 speed-indexed gears, the Hallam is equipped for any adventure. Its front and rear V-brakes give you efficient stopping power, even in wet and muddy conditions. The Hallam boys' mountain bike also benefits from a height adjustable saddle and handlebars, along with reflectors.
Minimal assembly required. Recommended for 7-9 years, recommended height 125-136cm.

• 6 speed-indexed gears
• Front & rear V-brakes

Just a word of warning on the grip shift system for kids. They are a 50/50 hit rate on if your kid can physically turn them.

SRAMM is the better option. This may have them.

Good deal. Unfortunately, I'm hunting for an 18" for one son and a 24" for the other.
