The Last Hero a story of Discworld by Terry Pratchett and illustrated by Paul Kidby.
As with all Poundland deals this might be area specific. I picked up this copy in the Walsall store.
The cover price is £12:99 so a bit of a saving for Pratchett fans.

This is my first post but I'm not bothered about you being gentle. :-)

I might have to look at how to get a pic on here, unless some nice person can help me out.
(edit: sorted the pic now.)

Sounds like it's more widespread than I thought.

Let's hope Terry's alzheimers doesn't stop him producing the quality of work we're used to. :-)

Voted hot, I'll look out for it.

I got this as a birthday present a few years back. Pure quality from the legend that is Terry Pratchett.

Couldn't agree more matey. There's a BBC programme at 9pm this wednesday (I think) about Terry living with alzheimers. Could be something worth tuning in for, or could just be really distressing. Will have to wait and see.

is this a proper copy published by corgi and everything, or some nasty equivalent?

It's published by Gollancz who are a subsidiary of Orion Publishing.

Large format 11 x 10 inch (I'm guesstimating, without getting up to use a tape measure).

He keeps banging them out at an alarming rate. I couldn't get into the last book of his that I read. I had to prop my eyes open with matchsticks. Alzheimers? You learn something new everyday.

Good book.

The Last Hero was a comic book style spin off Sir Terry did about Conan and his horde. The pic shown above is the cover of the original release, but I'm not sure what other versions they have since put out. It's a good book and very funny, just like the early Discworld. The latter few years have been a lot more story based, rather than out and out comedy. Still how the man mamages to remember the past plots and characters after all these years is beyond me.

I bought 4 copies from the Newbury store yesterday (for me, a nephew, 2 mates) and there were still several left.

Ridiculously good value.
