Can't be that small if it requires Battery Type C

What kind of emitter does it have? Cree or one of those big old fashioned ones?

Gaslight. The batteries are just for ignition.

Had one of these torches for about 3 years, only problem I have had is it occasionally loses connection where I just shake it gently to get it back on (I think it is just a loose connection on mine rather than a design flaw). Good torch for the £12 I paid, excellent at £4, I am going to buy 2 more, so if I go travelling will just gve it to the locals or use it for bartering. Heat added

Wish it had been the aa version as i keep buying rechargeable batteries when they're on special :)

Well, whatever batteries it takes its hot!
Either the size is wrong (18mm) or the battery size is wrong (c cells)

You really don't understand what this is do you? Only common factor with the Poundland one is the description 'torch'.

Not voting, but in the age of keychain LED torches or torch apps for your phone, these old-style chunky things just seem obsolete.

stacks of really cool cheap torches on dealextreme - i just got a really strong cree stainless steel single aa torch for approx £8 ($13.10) - will last a lifetime i expect.

great if you can wait for the rather slow delivery from dx.

Torch apps for your phone will come nowhere near a decent Cree LED torch.

Phone call from Tesco, sorry OOS,refund issued.

Went to pick up my order today, got it home and the torch they gave me is nothing like what I ordered so I've fired off an email to them... not happy! :(
#29
I'm taking mine back as it's silver not black. Also disappointed to see it's got 3 large LEDs not a Cree-like emitter. It was only worth £3.90 imo.

Tesco sent email to say back in stock!

looks nothing like one advertised , like something you would get from poundland , no batteries as the advert said when i bought it
what torch uses C batteries now ? , needed torch for a trip my kid had planned and ended up paying nearly a fiver for batteries and not worth hassle of wasting fuel to send back
could have been worse could have paid £13 for it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

update - complained to TESCO via e-mail and got a full refund , result.,
