i know - but for that price what do you expect de walt?? - still a good price - no doubt screw drivers will unscrew and the ratchets - might get some use off - always handy in an emergency:thumbsup:

At that price it doesnt matter in my opinion if its occassional use.Everyday usage i would say it wouldnt last but every now and then for just over £2 who cares lol.

nice one, use occasionally ok.

add a sim and then return sim to store for refund:-D

Waste of money IMO - you'll end up ruining more screws and bolts than the cost of the set - nevermind going mental at the same time. Cold from me.

Do what I do then, only use the body coupled with decent gold bits....problem solved!

I've no idea what you're on about mate - sorry,

I got a question about the SIM card trick. I placed an order with a SIM from TESCO direct. However, the parcel I received didn't come with a receipt, strange? How can I return the SIM under this situation?

ive had my one of these for 15 years. seriously. cost me about 3-4 quid back then. useful set.

So explain how you are going to ruin your screws...and more intriguing....your bolts!
#13
as usual with Tesco cheap stuff the quality is awful. use these bits on anything requiring force and the metal will disintegrate. Why not buy something for 35 times this price and have it last a lifetime and do a useful job when needed.

I am quite concerned when people post something that is lousy - but says it will do in an emergency,

If I am in an emergency - I would really really like to have things with me that worked and were reliable.
#16
if it is cheap and nasty like some say you might as well get the poundland version. That's ok for occasional use.
#17
Went to buy but it is now out of stock.

There is feck all wrong with it, ok the bits wont be upto much but then the vast majority of standard bits are ****!

But in emergency, well its better than a butter knife!

Like I said buy the thing..or similar and buy decent bits if you want it to be unlousy.

Try some gold as mentioned previously or diamond...essential for emergency use!

Because the screw heads and sockets are not machined to any precision and will therefore chew on heads and bolts, due to them being ill-fitting.

They are machined to precision, the problem is the quality...ie why there is a market for diamond/gold bits...like I already suggested....twice.

Anyway what would you buy this for, not as if you have a 12,240 bhp Wartsilla engine in your back yard needing stripped!

Even good quality bits can and will chew on screw heads....after all there are a lot of poor quality screws used out there.

Actually - to be fair with most of these sets, its the bits that are rubbish, they the hexagonal socket is the same standard for well made bits.

Using cheap ones on say a rusted in philpis screw normally makes the screw reform the bit so it loses its blades, but buying a decent set of bits for as little as a five quid can fix this.

B&Q does sets of pretty good longer length ones for under a tenner (or anyone in Glasgow - try Bills Tools at the Barrows, but ask for professional ones.
