First Morrisons and Asda said they would be cutting prices on fuel, Finally, Tesco said it would cut petrol by 1p and diesel by 3p.

Good for those who have a Tesco garage near them.

Diesel is sitting at a 'cheap' £1.44 per/ltr here in sunny N.Devon, yay for 3p...

Don't forget the clubcard points too though :P lol Every little counts remember :D haha
#9
s'pose those protests did move something
#10
lol. they will decrease increased fuel charge. initially from 132.9 to 135.9 because of 5p off per litre voucher deal.
Use the normal fuel stations, shell, texaco...etc. it will save you a lot more within long term use. In my area shell and tesco same price.

Even with todays 5p off coupon, I'd rather get filled up at the dentist that a petrol station - and it's cheaper.

How many oil producing nations do you have to bomb into submission for a cheap gallon of fuel?

lol how this deal gets cold, where Asda & Morrisons go mega hot
#13
Brilliant news,I can save 20p on a 25 quid fill up. X)

I rarely see these price drops at the Tesco station near me, they are an appalling bunch of 'stards.

Remember folks. If you have a Ducati motorcycle that was built between 2001 and 2008 (monster, 999, sport classic, 1098, 848) Do not put tesco fuel in the bike. It has a high bio ethanol percentage which reacts with the plastic in the tank and causes it to swell and distort.

http://www.ducati.ms/forums/11-ducati-motorcycle-chat/72745-spreading-tank-problems-ducati-motorcycles-2.html

Rolling topic on Ducati forums and its the reason I now ride a BMW and not the bike pictured on the left :(

Someone wake me up when a litre is less than a quid.
#17
No wonder Tesco's say 'Every little helps' - these big supermarket stores could easily cut the price of Petrol and substitute their loss in store by adding 1p to items

Same here - my local store was 133.9 2wks ago, 135.9 last week and this week 137.9 the highest so far
so great, IF they take the 1p off it's 136.9 and then IF you have the 5p voucher it's then 131.9 - so that takes us back to around February/March prices.
Well done Tesco, thanks for that after you've hiked the prices so much in the space of a few short months (_;)

i think ricky tomlinson should advertise for them every little helps my ar$e

The price is only coming down because the price of crude has fallen.

None of the supermarkets should be puting any spin on this.

As for diesel falling more than petrol, this is because diesel demand is higher in the winter and lower in the summer. Petrol demand increases in the summer partly due to higher demand from USA and their 'summer driving season'. Americans don't use diesel much at all.

do we really need a deal for every petrol company every time crude oil goes down a bit?

Diesel only dropped by 2p at ours

Don't be silly - that would be spelt "Rbaboi".
#26
When/how do these big Stores get to know about the public's feelings about their fuel prices?
I don't see any way of feeding back to them.
Moaning isn't really going to get us anywhere :(

Most frustrating - would the stores even care?

tesco are always 1p more than asda and the other supermarkets, so u pay for your own clubcard point
#28
Its funny - Morrisons cut their petrol by 1p and gets 800+ approval rating on HUKD - Tescos cut by same amounts and gets minus 146

Tesco Petrol in south London is cheaper than all rivals according to Petrolprices.com

I have no particular love of Tesco, but some people seem to be confusing it with Ryanair

Tesco - Ryanair - what a brilliant and accurate comparison

Every little counts - more like Very little counts - credit to the artist Bankys

This is going down in heat - BECAUSE Tesco were ther LAST supermarket to do it - they only did it because they had to

God- I sound like a Tesco hate boy - more and more
#30
Our local tesco went up 5p in less than a week, now at 142.9p, nice to get under the 140 again! Being village have no choice but to pay it
#31
My Tesco have only taken 2p off Diesel and thats after an increase last week. Morrisons and Asda cheaper in my area.
