I bought Tescos own christmas gummy shapes and Cadbury snowballs for 1p a bag at my local Tesco last night. Just the luck of the draw store to store I guess :santa:

Must be Tesco 1p day today - someone else from Dundee cleared the shelves of Liquorice Allsorts for 1p as well in Tesco. I'm keeping well away - or else I'll do the same.
#5
clearly photoshopped
#6
any items that go down to 1p in Tesco are supposed to be removed from the shelves ...whoever is putting tickets out for 1p obviously doesnt know what they are doing lol

Why are there some users on here who are so suspicious - accusing someone of photoshopping this is a little bit of daft as I don't see why anyone would bother to fake this in truth.

You obviously don't ever look at the TESCO MEGA REDUCTIONS thread on MSE then... for those who are ignorant of the fact that Tesco occasionally reduce end of line stock to 1p I'd suggest you take a look at it. It's been going on for years but often finding stock is the problem.

They once reduced twin packs of bibs to 1p when my son was born - I am still getting through the 60 packs of them that I bought at the time (120 bibs for 60p!!!)

very tempting to take a walk up there today

Your best bet with the 1p items is the quick till, they do take the 1p items off you if they are jobsworths and they notice.

Maybe they didn't want to waste another penny if they got home and didn't like them?
#12
a 1p label means the item should be removed, there is probably someone new on pricing.
if you see this sort of thing in store, get it while you can cos it will go very quick!
#13
Thinkin that trip to Tesco may be earlier than planned today have a good trail round the aisles. Lots of xmas stock still lying about may be down ..fingers crossed!

has anyone else been to Tesco today and found anything 1p? I might go later and have a look.
#22
There have been some 1p items in the Christmas/seasonal section online.
If you are lucky and they are out of stock upon delivery you may get price matched.
#23
Hold on and I'll photoshop the receipt as well, just to make sure? :p

In hindsight, I should've cleared the shelve, but then there'd have been no point in posting this; other people deserve the chance to get a bargain. Surely that's the point of this site?!

When tesco reduces things to 1p it means they should be sent back and not sold to customers.

Not from around here are you? As in Scotland? I've seen a few silly place names but certainly wouldn't assume it was typo and wouldn't pull up the OP for it either - or we'd never get anywhere. St Rollox is a place.

In my Tesco only things on clipstrips were 1p the larger items are till £1 plus (Westcliff)
#34
bargain, but im already a fat lard ass.
#35
Tesco reduce things to 1p as part of their write-down process.

So a discontinued product is reduced to 1p when it is thrown out so that on the books the value of disposed stock is low. The rule is that all these items should be removed from the shelves the day before the price change happens so that customers can not buy at this price.

Evidently sometimes mistakes are made, probably someone new in the job put the label on the shelf instead of removing the stock.

Don't waste petrol going looking for it as except for another store that may have made the same error all of the stores that are correctly following procedure will have removed them.
#36
The reason tesco reduce items to 1p is so stores know they have to be removed. Stock control at your local store clearly don't know what there doing.
#37
oooerrrrr, you can tell who works for Tesco and who doesnt lol
