Great choice - choose from : Value, Standard and Finest cover.
You choose the repairer you want to fix your vehicle, including franchised dealers. All we ask is that the garage is VAT registered.

I had a Warranty like this, car basically fell apart and everything that went wrong the Warranty company said "oh thats due to wear and tear, thats not covered" so its important to know exactly what it covers and what it doesn't

Some of the Tesco policies cover wear and tear.

OK for my wifes 9 year old 800cc Matiz at £99. That piece of crap always going wrong!! Cost us £500 last year to get the head re-skimmed and a new water pump because she "forgot" to check the water. She said "that's my job", yet it's all womens right until it goes wrong.

You paid £500 to keep an 8 year old Matiz on the road? Really?

My quote was half the price that Warranty Direct offered and that was price deal apparantly.

I know, tell me about it. The car was bought for her by her mother just before she died, so is really sentimental to her. At the time it was like losing her mother again.

Take a look at the exclusions:

http://www.tescofinance.com/personal/finance/motoring/car-warranty-plan/policy-doc.jsp#general

More or less all the usual parts to fail.
i.e. hoses, pipes, brake pads, discs, shoes, cables, drive belts, engine mounts, suspension mounts, wheels, tyres, use of incorrect (or contaminated) fuel, spark plugs, HT leads, airbags, paintwork, glass, upholstery, water ingress, wiper blades, wiring looms, door and window seals...etc

Wear & tear isn't covered in the £99 deal either.
For a 1401-1800cc vehicle, it'll cost £199 to include wear & tear ... and it needs to be under 8 years old/80k miles

There's a £50 excess on the £99 deal

Ah, I see. That's slightly more understandable then.

" use of incorrect (or contaminated) fuel"
So, it will not cover you when Tesco sell you dodgy fuel, like they have done in the past !!!!

Just thought I would point out that this is no longer available to new customers.

I bought the Finest policy and so far have claimed £750 for an original cost of £330.

wise words, warranty companies are notorious for trying to wriggle out of warranty claims.
