Searched for an earlier posting of this on here, but can't find one.
Found this on the Tesco Clubcard website (see link) when I was checking what I could do with my Clubcard Deals vouchers.
If you join the Tesco CLUBCARD CHRISTMAS SAVER scheme, you can top-up the scheme (eg with cash) until tomorrow Sunday 12/10/08 and for £100+ Tesco will give you one bonus £5 voucher, sent out in November with your Tesco Clubcard vouchers.
You will HAVE to spend the TOP-UP £100 and BONUS £5 at Tesco BUT that is still a 5% return over a minimum of 3-6 weeks which is quite some return, with the security of Tesco! As I say you are committing your £££ to Tesco but I'm sure many families get through quite a few £££ there!
Not worth a special trip to Tesco to do, but if shopping there in the next 28 hours and having £100 to "lend them" for 3-6 weeks then you can get that £5 bonus [though I guess you run a risk that the posting out to you in November of your clubcard/topup/bonus vouchers MIGHT go astray in the post?!?].
The key bit seems to be:
"When is the last day I can collect points for my Clubcard Christmas Saver?
Points can be collected until 19th October 2008 and the last day for topping-up is 12th October 2008."
See the Tesco website for more details.
You can also "put back" any Clubcard Vouchers you have at home until tomorrow too - ie give them back, and get them returned with a £5 on £100+ bonus in November BUT BUT BUT they are then treated as a cash top-up and you will then LOSE any ability to use the November topup/bonus vouchers for Clubcard Deals - ie will only be able to spend at face value at Tesco, not x4 on Deals or x2 on Wine etc.
Seems quite a bit of an effort for £5 but I'm sure someone might value it...
BTW: When I first read the Tesco site I thought it meant you got £5 per £100, ie a 5% return on complete £100's - and that you'd get it as Clubcard vouchers, ie x4 = 20% return in 3-6 weeks which would of course be ludicrously generous - and lead to another run on the banks to move into Tesco :)
