The tesco clubcard sale has its final offer for this session launched today.

The offer is for national railcards at a bargain rate of £5

The normal clubcard rate for a railcard is £15 of clubcard vouchers to get a railcard (normal railcard price with cash is £30)
Previous clubcard sale items have also been great value with me picking up some itunes vouchers and pizza express vouchers, but all the others have now sold out.

Looks like variable amounts of each card available at the start but going reasonably quickly. I'll try and give some updates on availability in the comments below.

Update at 2pm
The friends and family ones are sold out, but still some 16-25 (150), disabled (350) and senior ones left (250).

On closer inspection, it looks like there are different amounts of each type available, with the two together ones going quicker than the others.

As at 12:12, there are:
1655 16-25 available
466 disabled
1605 friends and family
3104 senior
909 two together

You get a third off train tickets so well worth getting. It will pay for itself in no time.

You're correct 3000 odd of the senior railcards left at time of posting

Should be okay as "Token codes are valid for 6 months from issue." and you can renew for a period (4 weeks?) before card expires.

Yes but if it's for two who always travel together, it's cheaper.
#21

#22

A Railcard discount applies to a Rail ticket if you have the relevant valid Railcard with you when you travel on the discounted ticket.
So yes, buy a suitable National Railcard using the £5 Clubcard token, and that Railcard is going to be valid when buying tickets from Trainline.com [which nearly every HUKDer would advise against due to their extra charges], you can tick the relevant box when buying from them to claim the Railcard discount and your ticket will be priced/printed with the Railcard discount. You then have to have the valid Railcard with you on the day of travel. See the MSE site for more ideas on how to reduce your train ticket prices...

two together sold out at 12.43
#32
Bargain but sadly as a lone traveller this doesn't help me out :(
#33
Yes I too was disappointed that there isn't one for a single traveller over 25!
#34
Only a half decent deal if you have enough clubcard vouchers to begin with.
#35
Bought one for myself.
Can I buy one for a friend who doesn't have enough points? Or does it have to match the name on your clubcard?
#36
Looks like your "token" is valid for 6 months before you have to use it, so well worthwhile getting even if your railcard isn't due to run out for a while...

So a final tip for you - the Railcard needs to be valid & with you WHEN YOU TRAVEL on the discounted ticket. You don't need a valid Railcard when you ORDER the ticket online [though you probably would at a manned Ticket seller].

So if you're planning for your first trip on the Railcard to buy an Advance ticket to travel in (up to) twelve weeks time, you can time your token claim for something like 10 days before the actual day of rail travel [do read the National Railcard website for how quickly they promise to deliver the railcard by post] so as to maximise the one year validity of the Railcard.

The tokens are valid for 6 months (and might well mean 6 clear calendar months ie to end of September rather than 3rd of Sept).

If you're over 25 (and also over 60) you can get a Senior Rail Card.

Academic unfortunately as each Clubcard a/c can only make ONE order of up to 4 tokens, but no a token can't have to match as only 1 of the 4 could/would match as holder can apply for upto 4. Thinking about it, presumably it's one order per Railcard type, so maybe you could order if they are in another category ?

This is the section of train users that bring in the money for them, we get nothing in return though?
