So after hunting around for cheap Xbox live points I managed to get these (granted on pre-order but still)

The more you add the cheaper it should make it

Add two and enter "Freedel" as coupon code and it will take £3.29 making it £27.66

I also put 'XXF7Y6' to get 250 extra points not sure if it works on all accounts though

quote from tesco.com

nope, it's just the branding to push it. I just got a 2100 card with Lips branding and not used it for anything to do with lips

If you just want 1x 2100 points, go to woolies who are selling them at £16.99 less 10% = £15.29. A bit more expensive but good if you don't want to buy 2 points cards.
#12
what are the points for???????
#13
Can you buy xbox live subscriptions with these points?

The Xbox 360 has its own online service called Xbox Live, there are 2 options when you connect to the Live service, Silver & Gold.
Silver is free and enables you to send messages & chat to other Xbox 360 owners and look around the Xbox Live shop (called the Marketplace), watch a limited number of game/movie trailers and try out a limited number of game demos (Gold users normally get to try them a week or two earlier).
Gold is subscription based (e.g. £39.99 a year) and allows you to not only chat/send messages to other Live players but also play against them in multiplayer games, have the full range of game demos/trailers etc. to try out.

The Marketplace has everything from feature length movies, old classic arcade games & games made by other gamers, different Themes for your Xbox (like wallpapers on a computer) and extra levels/characters etc. for any full price retail games you have bought. All of these marketplace items are bought with the Xbox's currency which are called Live points.

I hope that helps. :)

Here's the official Xbox site if you need more help:- http://www.xbox.com/en-GB/default.htm

So, is it cheaper to buy these points to get a subscription, or should I just get one with cash (I could find one for about £27, probably).
#19
u cannot buy a live subscription with these points, they are only used for Marketplace stuff like films, arcade games, gamerpics, themes etc

Have you checked your 0's and o's? Could be a letter/number issue.

Yes

ok its very simple - points cards are not used to buy xbox gold accounts.

they are used to purchase games, add-ons and movies etc.

the xbox live gold subs that you can buy simply allow you to play online with other gamers.

of course ps3 and wii dont charge for online play. wii also do points cards to download games etc. im also told sony will be selling PSN cards soon so people can buy items that way too.

i bought 2 cards from hmv, as they sent me a £5 off £30 spend, so 2 x £16.99 = £33.98 - £5 = £28.98 and then quidco too - works out at about £28 but these arent lips ones, they are standard ones but they are out of stock right now so im guessing they will be soon and be working ones.

Yes, had the same problem - phoned in, and had to email photos of the card to Microsoft, but they still haven't replied :(

Yes I'm also getting the same problem, I e-mailed Microsoft and they just sent me a generic reply to use their online FAQ.

Are you talking about these Lips codes or just codes in general?

I've had points before and never had any problems redeeming them.

I've tried at Xbox.com and through the Xbox itself and these Lips codes just keep giving me an invalid code error.
#35
I rang Microsoft and they tell me the cards are invalid.I have to take a photo of them, then email them to microsoft and they will be replaced.

I've cancelled my order, as I can't be bothered with the faffing about emailing copies of invalid vouchers, then waiting.

If so many are faulty/not activated, why aren't Tesco pulling them from sale?

Mine are now working.
