Any good ?

It's got decent reviews. Even one of the 4 star reviews only gave it 4 stars because they received bad service from Tesco.

I'm in the market for a big bbq. Really umming and arring (if there's any way to spell that) whether to take the plunge on this.

Looks like it was never worth anymore than £150, definitely not £300
Telltale sign is that when you spend nearer and above the £200 mark, they tend to stop using those cheap steel grills and replace them with cast iron. You get what you pay for

Really umming and arring (if there's any way to spell that)....

Don't think there is a formal correct spelling but the singular would be to 'um and ah' as 'um and ar' sounds like something a country yokel might say. Therefore umming and ahhing might be better. I'm bored at work today.

I think arr is more used by pirates?

Incorrect, its actually Hemming and Hawing, or to Hem and Haw.

These were on sale instore last year for £120 (black ones tho) then with clubcard exchange it came down to £70ish. They are alright, nothing to write home about but if your a keen BBQer, look elsewhere.

Tesco own-brand barbecues are naff. End of. Poor quality. Best spend a bit more & get the quality that comes with it.

I'd have gone with umming and arring too.

You seem very confident about this despite the 26 decent reviews, do you have any experience of these BBQ's?

I'm speaking generally here as I've not even looked at this model closely, but the problem I've found with reviews for things such as BBQ's is the reviews are written shortly after purchase and almost any BBQ is great when you first get it. How many people are gonna bother coming back writing a review 2 or 3 years later though? Chances are the model won't even exist then anyway. I've had a number of BBQ's both gas and charcoal over the last 20 years and although they were all great for a while, they all quickly showed signs of wear and eventually fell apart. 3 years ago I bought a Weber kettle after consistent great reviews and comments from people who've owned one for years. I would now never buy anything else again. So impressed I bought a baby one as well and I'm waiting for the right deal on a Q series gas model for quick cooking. Just my thoughts of course and others may feel differently but I would rather pay a bit more for one that I feel sure would last many years.

Not owned this model but bought a tesco barbecue a few years back, & as KendallC says above (quite rightly) these things just aren't built to last.

This doesn't look like a tesco model.... Zoom in the picture and it says Master Cook on the lid. Master Cook are a brand. The same model is here for twice the price http://www.flamingbarbecues.co.uk/4-Burner/Mastercook-MC-15B-4-Burner-Gas-BBQ?gdftrk=gdfV2333_a_7c425_a_7c8388_a_7c14550_23022&gclid=COPs_-f8zL4CFQIGwwod8FYAkw

Shocking colour.

They do sell other Mastercook BBQ's, I agree this is a cut above your usual stuff.
