COLD ...the Argos 2TB drive is a far better deal for £ per Gb :

http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/wd-passport-2tb-portable-hard-drive-argos-59-99-2068072

Granted - but if you don't need 2TB, and the spare capacity would simply be wasted (or if you want a spare drive just to chuck stuff to friends without worrying about losing it), then this is still a good deal.
Using the 2TB is better value argument, I'd say XXXL t-shirts are much better value, but not that great you you are 'M' in size!

Great find - just bought it - thanks!

USB 2.0? 25MB/s? It would take around 6hours to put some stuff on it - would rather pay extra tenner for a USB 3 hard drive.

Ordered! Cheers OP

I've never had trouble with 2.0 USB speeds. but then again, maybe your'e in a lot more of a rush than me? I pretty much only use mine to back up photos. This is perfect for the job if you ask me :)

yes u can use as ps4 or any console that takes small laptop hdd as internal. u just would have to open the casing and take the hard drive out. and put it in your ps4. then use ps4 setting to format and done.. then u are left with a case that u can stick any hard drive in and use as external.

Its all down to what you want it for. I was looking for something like this to plug into a TV and use as a PVR so I've voted this hot. I might still get the 2TB USB 3 Western Digital to use for other stuff

Hmm shame it's not black, looking a a cheap reliable 500gb external hard disk to use with the wii u. I have the black model, plus the tv cabinet is black.
Can't tell from the picture but is it white or silver?

Mini-usb 3? Is there such a thing? I thought it was micro or full size.

There have been plenty of 1Tb USB 3 drives hovering around the £50 mark on here, so all in all,not that great a value in comparison taking into account bang per buck.

USB3 isn't available via mini-USB - it's micro only. The connector is designed to accept micro-USB but will only allow USB2.0 transfer speeds as a result.

Yes but ps4 already has a 500gb hdd. - no improvement.

Unless you plan on swapping them once one is full (im unsure how a ps4 handles hdd swapping back and forth)

The Argos one is also USB 3 ....and not as slow as the clunky Toshiba above....

It doesn't want's to format drive after each swap (even if prevously working)
