Doesn't take SD cards... bit of a downer for me as I have a few now. I belive it's XD and Micro SD only?

Personally I'd rather have a microSD slot than SD... It's a more modern standard (so you don't buy more cards that'll be almost redundant in a couple years time) and reduces the size of the camera. If you want cards you can use for both then switch to microSD and use an adapter so it'll fit SD slots. Not after a digital compact but I think you'd struggle to get any better for £50. Hot deal

SD is now THE standard - super cheap too. I think they'll be around for a long time. I don't think there's any mainstream camera which is smaller because it has microSD? Maybe helpful in a phone but not a camera and arguably they're as small as they can get before they become impractical to use anyway.

Spec on Tesco site only states xD memory - now that IS an expensive format on the way out (ironically smaller too).

This deal would be super hot if it wasn't for the memory card issue.

What's this camera like, any good?

An Amazon review states it takes micro sd, but I cannot get this verified anywhere - if its XD only it's just no good as I wouldn't bother buying an new card just to fit this camera, when you know fine well nothing in the future will ever use this format. bummer!

ppl on the reevo review slate this a bit?

ordered yesterday , wifes 10% staff disc + quidco (£1.27) = £43.71 + 98 clubcard points.
I think thats a good buy for a 12mp with 4x optical zoom. xD is still used in a lots of top end cameras.

Really? You got an excellent deal on an alright camera but xD is an expensive and dying format. Doesn't matter if you don't need extra cards but soon absorbs any saving if you do.

The Olympus website states the box contains an adaptor for a micro SD card. Has anyone received theirs yet? Can anyone confirm? Thx.

Ah, yes, that was an earlier Olympus attempt to save their format. Daughter got one of those adaptors with another model Olympus a couple of years ago. Works fine but not something you'd want to be changing as you go along. As suggested earlier, this camera is a terrific deal if you are only ever going to use one memory in it but if you plan to swop more than one I think the format is a good reason to look elsewhere.

Ah, yes, that was an earlier Olympus attempt to save their format. Daughter got one of those adaptors with another model Olympus a couple of years ago. Works fine but not something you'd want to be changing as you go along. Think it was limited to 2Gb too (had to return a larger micro SD as it wasn't compatible with her camera). You may want to confirm that if it's important to you.
