Have just been into my local Tescos and went down the seasonal aisle to find all the remaining Easter Eggs being moved for the 1p promotion that starts tomorrow. The Tesco employee says it is on all Easter Eggs.

Can't say that chocolate lasts longer than a few days in my house!

Awesome deal - presuming it's nationwide?! :)

Starts tomorrow and ends about 5 minutes after the staff and the early risers get in. If they had just knocked 75% off earlier then many more would have had a bargain without ppl feeling the need to fill the entire trolley - which is what will happen now. They should have just given then to the staff rather than reduce to 1p.

What time tomorrow for these 24hr stores?

I wondered that and thought maybe I should go at midnight! Only joking
#12
Prices will be live at midnight labels might take a little longer - stores are supposed to remove them and give them away to charity etc
#13
oO 1 pence
#14
cold, they were giving these free in the freebies section the other day....only kidding, very hot although i doubt my local will have any!
#15
those who do find a shop SELLING them for 1p should note this for the next time they shop and are told they are not allowed to buy 1p stock,

:D
#16
No, when an item goes to a penny in tesco's this means that they should not be sold and the items to be wasted
#17
Haha awesome!
#18
They will be wasted or given free to staff. Not for sale
#19
If you can find one...
#20
Bargin if there are any left.
#21
I doubt there will be any by the time I can get to a Tesco tomorrow evening. Probably just as well as I'd be tempted to buy some.....and then eat them myself in secret
#22
I phoned our store and they knew nothing about it? I want to buy many so I can sell them for £1 each in the school staffroom to raise money for a charity I'm raising for. Still tempted to go at midnight.. perhaps stock prices are controlled from mother ship and the individual stores aren't aware of this? :)
#23
I take it most people on here will be hiring a van and filling it to the top before 6.30am! No point anyone else bothering haha

they did give to their staff, we had thousands left over. Gave out hundreds on sunday. They were planning on throwing the rest out.

Wow, didn't eggspect this!
#26
Will this start at midnight at our local 24 hour Tesco?
#27
Supermarkets used to just reduce them to 20p-50p after easter, which cleared the shelves pretty damn quickly.

Why have they stocked them at half price for weeks, only to then basically give them away, or worse still, waste them?
#28
Won't be, staff get first pickings :(
#29
all eggs are conveniently dated best before march 2012, just before next easter to put people off from saving them

You're right, it does seem strange

Doubt it will be at midnight, most likely when the normal labelling staff get in and wait for the system to change.

Just spoken to a relative who works in Tesco. All their eggs were sold off to staff for 10p. He didn't get me any either. All their eggs have now been withdrawn from sale to public, so if you find any you'll be really lucky.
#37
Check all the scavengers :p
#38
Just been to my local Tesco no eggs left but loads of Cabbury's Cream Egg's and mini Egg's wonder if these will be on offer then ;)
#39
I went Batley tesco 2day and they had some crappy unbranded easter eggs for £1.50!
#40
