With a visible water gauge and viewing window to monitor progress, you can steam perfectly cooked rice every time with the Tesco RC16 rice cooker.

Rice steamer
Cook up to 1.5L of rice with the Tesco rice cooker in black. The removable pot is dishwasher-safe, so it won’t have to be washed manually. After cooking, the keep-warm function will keep rice hot for serving. This rice cooker comes with a measuring pot and serving spoon for added convenience.

isn't the point of this that it steams it and doesn't boil the nutrients out?

All the Chinese students i ever knew years ago all used these - I'll wager they know more about well cooked and tasty rice than you do.

Plus lazy is the microwave rice pouches - 2 minutes and no washing up - not that I'd know anything about them, oh no....

people are so lazy buying a toaster or a kettle. Just use a grill or pan.

To the uneducated.....this will cook the rice then keep it warm while you do other things in the kitchen....like cooking the curry etc.

just ordered thanks. :D

do true

Seems like a good price but maybe a touch too small for family cooking.

tbh I had one like this. it was ok but the rice stuck to the bottom and was hard to get off.
I would recommend if you want a rice cooker paying a little more and getting a ceramic one

I don't have a clue. If only it had a more straightforward name.

Not sure what being Muslim has to do with it but hey.
Ever used a rice cooker?
The texture and flavour from steaming rice is far better then standard boiling.

If your eating rice that often and just using a hob I assume our rinsing the rice and using the absorption method?
Should be taking longer then 10 minutes to do it right normally about 15-20 minutes.

Rice cooker removes all the hassle.
As long as you measure it right pretty much nothing can go wrong.

A lot of restaurants use them, pretty much every Chinese and Japanese kitchen as well a s taking off more and more in the rest of asia.

Use more water. Ratio should be 1 part rice : 2 parts water.
