10p saving.

Most supermarkets and DIY store seem to have these in at the moment. (5 for 50p)(some sort of promotion thingy i think!)

Still a bargain though!

Any idea what wattage as it always seems to be 11w or 12w, nothing higher in the cheapo deals!
#3
Tesco 15w is a good 60 watt (I had a deal on these which were 3 for £2) but loads of real dirt cheap ones there in my tesco.
Tesco 11w is 40 watt
Anything under 11 is dire or used for low level light, even then its horrid.

Also careful throwing these away or smashing them as they do contain mercury, but only a tiny amount :-)

why do they make these so ugly and they dont fit in my lights very well

OK, it's a good deal, but if these bulbs live up to the claims I've enough for the next 30 years. :p

They will have been 5 for 39p with the VAT reductions. You probably won't have noticed it if you purchased it with other items as it comes off at the end as "VAT Reductions". The way the tills calculate the VAT reduction is as if each bulb was being charged at its full price of 99p so it leads to an 11p reduction.

Its been this price for at a month now at Sainsburys. Surprised it took Tesco so long to catch on.

At minus 10 last night an similar tonight for you soft southerners are you sure you want to stop the global warming?!

I got 5 23W bulbs for 90p when Woolies were closing - fab deal. Bless its soul

5 for 40p is great, heat added!

B&Q do a four pack of 20W ones for £4 - and in Morrisons you can get a 30W which works out at 150W equivalent for just ender £3 a time - ES and bayonet

Same here! In my case, I keep asking them to send me ES (Edison Screw) fittings but they all insist on sending out bayonet fittings (which aren't of a lot of use to me). :-(:-(

Don't know if you mean the old style ones, but if you do - you will need to stockpile them quickly. Most retailers are voluntarily withdrawing the standard glass ones because the government doesn't want them sold anymore. This starts from this month, and this includes a lot of the big retailers. Having no choice isn't great really because you can't use dimmer switches with low energy bulbs and some peoples health are affected by them as well.

Nonetheless, this is a good deal voted hot & r added!!:whistling:

I bought 5 Philips 11w bulbs from Homebase after xmas for 99p, which I thought was a good deal. I've found the Philips bulbs light up instantly as opposed to the Tesco general electric ones which have a slight delay.

Bought these yesterday in Tesco and when I got to the till they came up as £1.00 each.Went to CS to complain and they said it was a 'Cockup' and should never have been at that price and just refunded my money. They also had removed all labels and wouldn't confirm deal as I was going to try and get Double the Differance back.Would be interested to know if anyone gets them at 5 for 40p.

I'm stocking up on the old ones....................... I'm not impressed with the light given off by the new ones.

I don't think they're old style - you can certainly get energy saving bulbs with the small bayonet but they seem to be £2-3 per bulb everywhere. Very frustrating as I bought the light to cut the cost of our entirely halogen lit flat!
