As per title, Tesco have own brand 500ml bottles of Extra Care 24hr Mouthwash at £1.00 and BOGOF.

50p per bottle seems a good price.

does anybody actually use £1 mouthwash? lol

24hr protection? If you read the label it states something along the lines of if used twice a day... Lol

Marketing aside, that's a great price.

Cheaper than their own brand sherry... and you look less suspicious with mouthwash on a park bench...

Not advertised as they wouldn't sell any if they did but mouthwash can stain your teeth.

(not voted either way)

Certainly not me. I usually go for the 50pence Tesco Daily Care version. If this offer is on next time I go I think I will join high society and upgrade to this superior version. I'm getting goosebumps now just thinking about it.

If you watch the Listerine adverts on tv they say it kills upto 99.9% of bacteria but the side note says in lab tests! Who actually buys it for lab testing?

Yes, a similar claim is made for many bleach and disinfectant products. What they neglect to point out is that if bacteria are so plentiful, which they are, there's still a helluva lot left in that 0.1 or 0.01% that's not killed or removed. For example, it's not unusual to have, say, 100 million bacteria per square centimetre (i.e. 10^8 for the scientists!) in a fairly dirty area: if you remove 99.9% of them, you still have 100,000 bacteria per square centimetre remaining!! I think that calculation is correct...

So it's not so much the reduction that should be important to most people (although it's reasonably impressive), but often what is left that matters!

not voting either way -hate to be a snob, but listerine is the only thing that truly works, unlike these mouth washes which just make your breath a bit minty for 10 minutes. listerine is also £8 for 3 litres at the moment from asda in the multipacks.

contains poisonous fluoride like most mouthwashes and toothpastes.

Go to FluorideAlert.org for proof that sodium fluoride is a deadly poison. Buy ESI Aloe Fresh if you want a safe toothpaste.

Whatever your opinion on fluoride in drinking water, I cannot say that the above site is a good one. If there is proof on there - and there may be, buried under lots of other stuff - it is not immediately obvious. What is obvious, is that there's a load of anecdotal reports and opinions on there. This is NOT a comment on whether fluoride is right or wrong, just that I couldn't find incontrovertible PROOF for either argument by browsing that site for around 10 minutes.

I would have thought that if the argument was that straightforward and was easily proved, all you would need was a simple page saying only 'click here to read the study results', instead of pages and pages of so-and-so said this or that - which isn't proof ...just opinion.

Sorry hajj_3 not a criticism of your opinion, just a criticism of opinion when paraded wrongly as proof.

Wilkinsons had Aquafresh mouthwash 600ml for 97p at the weekend, so worth checking there too.

I've marked this as expired, as it Tesco.com indicate that they've effectively doubled the price of these bottles by making them £1.99 and BOGOF. I think the original offer might have been a pricing mistake.

It's worth looking out for the £1.00 and BOGOF Shelf Edge Labels, as you'd be entitled to a Double The Difference refund if you bought some and they went through at £1.99 and BOGOF. This would be £1.98 for each £1.99 spent.
