I haven't got a clue what you are posting. What is the price of a chicken? £2.04 for a chicken or £2.04 per kg?

It's £2.04 for a 1kg bird - if you use the drop-down the price increases for the various weights above that, but still 1/2 price.

Do you recon these would taste as good after being frozen? Fancy one for Xmas lunch (don't do turkey) but not sure if it'd be as nice when it's not fresh from the fridge.

We always buy the free range corn fed and its lovely. (HAYLHOO) They're just as nice even if they have been frozen first. Will have to nip down and pick up a few tomorrow. :)

These chickens are fab, I bought about 10 last year and popped them in the freezer, they were still great in February when the last one was cooked!

Will the duck from the earlier deal fit into one of these? I already have the turkey and there are plenty of pigeons at the local train station (they may need cleaning up a bit though).

Also does anyone know where I can get a ready plucked ostritch from.. :{

I have frozen fresh chickens before and never noticed a difference to cooked from fresh. The main reason for a good roast chicken is how you cook it. I use a Roemertopf (clay pot), which will cook any chicken succulent and tasty, whether fresh or frozen.

OH has just been down to our local Tesco and the half price sign was up but the chickens had the 'normal' price on them. He bought 5, went to CS and got double the difference back!
Probably just our store (they're pretty useless) but have a check in your own just incase! :D

No, killing people is murder. Eating animals is normal behaviour for an omnivore; you are the freak!

Don't Diss Tescos - probably that is why they didn't give you the reduced price.:p

they just havent changed the labels yet. Should have asked for them to be changed. These normally go OOS very quickly in the past though so probably not worth going back.

Special OfferHalf Price Was £4.08 Now £2.04 valid from 2/12/2010 until 6/12/2010

Trust me, you will regret it, the chickens turn to must and will just end up in the bin.
Reminded me of boiled chicken :(
Don't say you haven't been warned
