Tesco Finest Fresh Free Range Turkey - Medium or Large £5.48 per kg

Seems a great price for a fresh free range turkey - and the 'finest' range is usually scrummy.

£5.49 a kilo is expensive. I bought a free range one on a farm, there's are actually tasty 5 a kg and the woman even knocked a few quid off.

I ha e seen these once alive and had one last year so know the quality.

I believe good butchers and m&s will be this price or cheaper.

Ive done it every year the past 8 years and its never been a problem. Bad weather this year means less people about and more cheap turkeys.

Wanted a bronze turkey so going for the Lidl deal.
Op, just a thought - it may be useful to put 'British' in the title.

Bad weather means less delivery's = less turkeys to go around, there wont be any left xmas eve let alone wednesday or thursday even.

ANYONE KNOW BEST PLACE TO BUY A EXTRA LARGE TURKEY CROWN?

An extra large turkey Crown shop? (sorry couldn't resist)

Very good advice trom unclegeorge on how to get the best deal though, there's always excess turkeys knocking about. Just look at this deal for instance.

I think the Lidl deal is better. Only 50p per kg more and you get a Free Range BRONZE Turkey....

On ther other point yes you can get some bargains at 2pm on Xmas Eve but you need to be brave..lol...I remember one year seeing a giant bird in Tesco, 16-18lb or thereabouts reduced from £30ish to £9...!!

Just been to Tesco in New Oscott/Sutton Coldfield and the medium was selling at 8.79 per kilo.

Why did you not just buy frozen to start with :) defeats the object buying fresh just to freeze.
