These were £5, now half price. Another example of Tesco's "price ballooning", but now they're a genuine bargain. Just to be clear, this was an offer on the end of aisle gondolas at my local Tesco Extra, NOT a "reduced to clear" yellow ticket item.

Great find, going to get a couple, cheese freezes well. Tesco and sainsbury have some half price port to go with this. Bought two bottles this week.

We usually freeze cheese, but I didn't think that Stilton was suitable for freezing? Have you frozen it successfully? I was reluctant to buy the half wheel as we don't eat much and usually end up throwing it away.

Packet says no. You can freeze it though as I have done in the past. The problem with freezing cheese is it tends to go a bit crumbly and stilton is supposed to be creamy. Better bet is to put it in a sealed container in the bottom of the fridge till its well past it's use by date. It'll taste like you're eating the alien from the film of the same name, pure acidy evil

Stilton omelettes are nice btw :)

I'm hoping there will be some cheaper deals on chunks of Stilton after xmas as they discount what they haven't sold. A couple of years ago I got 3 x 650g half wheel stiltons for 50p each in Sainsburglars

I can't believe this deal is so 'tepid', similar to my post for mature Lancashire at weekend from Morrison's.

No doubt if somebody posts one of those crappy branded mature cheddar BOGOF deals which take up far too much supermarket shelf space, the deal would be hot as toast.

Too many people with so little taste.

I'm hoping the same. I once got around 12 lbs of Blue Shropshire for about 40p a pound. I'm so glad that people are so predictable in their habits at Christmas.

They've got this deal on again this year, only it's £3.00 this time. The offer starts tomorrow.
