Seems an alright price after the reduction, but are they really £12/kilo at the moment?
#2
yeh it's a right rip off, mini fillets are the cheaper option by far

I tend to get them frozen instead, Lidl do 1.3Kg of part boned breast for £4. I like meat on the bone though, lots of people don't nowadays.

Yes but probably only in preparation for this "half price" offer.

The problem there is your paying for the bones, so it works out roughly the same as the £4/kg going rate for frozen breast fillets at most supermarkets.

Yeah but it tastes nicer on the bone, and you get skin :D

This is only just over a pound, so its around £2.65 a pound, which doesn't seem cheap. Having said that, I buy a tray of 10kgs (22lb) from Wing Yips for normally around £25 which lasts us around 3 months. I went the other day and the cheapest brand available was £28.49 which is the most i've ever paid, but still works out at about £1.30 a pound. The breasts are frozen so a bit of a pain splitting it up and putting it into food bags but worth the saving. Oh, and you'll need a chest freezer. They do do smaller bags but hey are a bit more expensive per pound and i don't know these prices. If anyone near a Wing Yips its worth taking a look, but they are not as cheap as they were and some of the stuff is now downright expensive, so you need to know your prices to compare. I generally just buy meat, fish and some veg, but seem to buy less each time i go as their prices rise.

you want to go to westin gourmet, for me the best place by far for meat for good prices

i get the 20kgs of chicken breast for £99, they normally have a discount code ( WELCOME) was the one i used for 10% off.
spend over £75 and it is free next day delivery.

they sell loads of different meats, some are a bargain, some not as much but the quality is fantastic on the things i have had ( chicken, pork loin t- bone steaks, gammon steaks).

250gram chicken breasts ( and it is all fresh not frozen) and no added water makes the super markets seem a rip off.

they do 10kg packs and 20kg packs the 20kgs works out cheaper

http://www.westingourmet.co.uk there are normall offers on and places like bodybuilding websites have extra discount codes and special offers if you google.

the meat comes in special insulated boxes with frozen gel packs to keep the meat in perfect condition. i then just split the breasts into 4's and put them in freezer bags and whack them in the freezer
