Just a reminder:

Tesco home insurance.

Get a quote online and save 50%.
Hurry - last few days. Ends 11th December.

Quote is valid for 90 days (approx 3 months)

Don't forget your Clubcard number to collect those points!

Definately worth getting a quote if your insurance runs out in the next few months. I've saved about £150 on what I paid last year and i'm already with Tesco home insurance (and it doesn't run out until February!)

they just automatically renewed me for £636.30 buildings and contents. I just checked, I could of got it for £363.30! £273 more they have charged me when I was under the illusion I was getting the best deal. I'm going to phone up and have words tomorrow, I don't think they've taken the money yet so perhaps I cancel???

You should still have the 14 days cooling off period to cancel that policy. If I were you I'd ring them to cancel and complete your quote online (online quotes include an extra discount I think). You can also opt out of them automatically renewing using your card details by giving them a ring. After all - £273 is £273!!

Can't understand why this deal isn't that hot - like I said I will be saving about £150 on my last policy and the other quotes I've had are nowhere near it. Only takes a few minutes to check online.

Probably because its still expensive for most people even with 50% off

Cost me £180 this year with the Pru and full accidental damage and ive got £150 Quidco back, so £30 for the year

Perhaps others have found, as I did, that the Tesco quote was between 50% and 100% more than other quotes.
Sorry, very cold imo

I just did an accurate like-for-like quote on my 3 bed semi-detached in Dundee, and the Tesco quote was £15 dearer than my current insurance (which is with AXA, via Egg).

So, I wasn't at all impressed by Tesco's '50% off'. Caveat Emptor.

Cassie, this deal is not hot because a lot of folk on MSE have tried a quote, including ME . It was not the best deal around. I went with my bank this time as they were offering a deal to members but a lot are saying the Pru...
Folk are checking with sites like www.confuse.com and then going through quidco.
Best Wishes ...Julie

Has the Quidco paid? - Seems good deal. Might give it a go.

Its tracked yes, you need to buy buildings and contents seprately to get 2 lots of cashback
#11
I didnt try Tesco, but you can get very cheap insurance through Quidco

Take out seperate buildings and contents to maximise the cashback

For example, I took out my own insurance today and ended up with the following:

Buildings with Privledge, quote was £129 and £70 quidco
Contents with Churchill, quote £70 and £70 quidco

So, FREE contents and buildings for only £59

Did the same last year. It only takes a few hours and you can save ££££'s!!

TSB used to be £120 per policy , they got stung when seperate policies were taken out so dropped it too £60 per policy :x

I cancelled Tesco no problem. I'm new to quidco, I went through churchills and co-op. took out two seperate policies, though it doesn't say it's tracking anything, should it? What happens next?
#14
haven't voted cos imo Tesco were the most expensive when I quoted. The best for me was AA and i got my quote through www.insuresupermarket.com who are excellent.
#15
The tracking speed depends on the merchant. Churchills took a couple of hours to show up yesterday.
#16
Even with 50% off still more expensive than my renewal with L&G. will keep shopping around.
#17
even with the supposed 50% discount still comes out £50 quid more than Zurich
