If you have purchased the hudl 2 for a higher price in the last 28 days you can get a retrospective refund of the difference by contacting live chat or phoning 0800 323 4050

    tescohelp.com/tes…tml

Edit: Members not having too much luck with live chat, try phoning. The code is on for the next couple of weeks so maybe try when they are less busy.

Heat added, bought one of these a few weeks ago after having multiple different generation iPads and I will safely say I won't ever fork out that money again for iPads when you can get such a good tablet with less restrictions for this price. was that impressed I went back and bought my mother one as an early Xmas present and she loves it. Don't fork out for apple this hudl will not disappoint (coming from an apple fan)

Not 100% sure as I think it may vary but have taken the below from a previous thread. I believe the first 4 vouchers are unique and the last 2 are generic but gives you an approximate idea on what you would get - ta

    £10 BlinkBox movies credit
£5 BlinkBox Premium Music for 30 days
    £10 Off F and F Clothing (£50 order)
    £10 BlinkBox Books
£15 off your FIRST Grocery order of £60
£10 off your FIRST Tesco Direct order of £50

Think the next tesco price point will be boxing day in uk [according to api feed] it starts at 12:01am, however last year, it started at 8:01pm christmas day...

As far as cheaper, £99 in sales would be the best it will get to, but then again, not sure if all the stuff they are chucking in today, would be included in the discounted price..

So if you have the wedge-o-cash, think £109 is a brilliant price for the spec and the fact you can take it back to any tesco 24 hours a day, if it busts under the strain of HUKD on Boxing Day / New Years day sales!

Manic Monday, seems a bit tame, considering it is meant to match cyber monday this year in the uk...

These are fantastic tablets. Beautiful full HD screen, fast processor and great build quality. Unlike the nexus tablets, they have an SD card slot too.

It has been rooted, but in terms of custom ROMs I don't hold out much hope. The main reason for this is that the Hudl 2 is only sold in the U.K. and most if the dev community is in the U.S.

What I would really like to know though, is if Tescos are going to release updates - specifically, Lollipop.

I never wanted a tablet. Then the Hudl 2 tempted me. Then I did what I always so and kept upgrading my requirements and now I'm spending £300 on a Z3 compact tab

Install the google now launcher from play store, this gets rid of the tesco logo. then delete the apps you dont want

Can be rooted but no custom rom yet. There was no real interest in the first one, but given this is a better spec'd machine there may be some soon.

As is has a camera on it which we know she'll love....can anyone offer any opinions (obv Im aware theres a price difference)....Thanks

I would definitely opt for this
Larger screen 8.3 as opposed to 7 on the Kindle (just too small)
Kindle is tied to the amazon store
Hudl has the google app store (which is a must imo)
and as you say I think your daughter would be pretty dissapointed if it didn't have a rear facing camera

    Guys,

Just a heads up, I bought two of these tempered glass screen protectors along with the Hudl 2 bumpers for our twins Xmas.

I've got tempered glass protectors on all the tablets and phones in the house as they save a lot of heart ache in the long run especially not having to replace screens if the kids drop them as the tempered glass screen will take the impact and crack and save your proper screen under it.

Here's a picture of my work phone which I dropped from about 3 feet onto the pavement and it survived! Also saved my HTC One M8 too, can't recomend these highly enough...and for the phones etc they aren't any more expensive than the crappy film screen protectors

Just to add to this, I ordered two HUDL2 for my folks for chirstmas (had loads of clubcard points to use) on saturday. Because I placed the order for two of them in one order I could only claim back the voucher code for one of the units on the order, not both of them - so if you do want to use this code then place two separate orders for the units instead of two on one order...!

I'll repair one for you - it'll only be £1,000 but I'll return it just like new!

For goodness' sake, it's a cheap (but good) tablet and the screen is probably the most expensive component in there. Even if you could get one the labour would probably cost more than a new tablet.
