Would be fantastic if it did, but sadly (and craftily on M$s part) They have limited driver support with USB devices...

LOL, how do we know if your Xbox360 is less or more than 15m away from your Router? *heh*

Seriously, I assume you're asking if a wired connection from your Router to Xbox360 will work. The answer is 'yes'. I use this method myself and it's very stable. A 15m £8 cat5 Ethernet cable suited my needs, it's a lot cheaper than the wireless adapter and I can still stream media from my PC to the Xbox360 which connects via my router.

its not in my tescos :(

Is this in store only?

Will check my Tescos tomorrow (weather permitting!)

Thanks

Yes Tia, if your laptop is currently not wi-fi enabled, this would do the trick

This would connect to any wireless router that is B/G/N compatible as long as it is broadcasting to include G mode, your netgear super g would be just fine, although you would not be getting the full 108mbps out of it with this, dropping back to normal g mode of upto 54mbps.

I saw one in the Walsall store two weeks ago but didn't need one so left it. Got home and a nephew said he needed one for his laptop, of course it had gone when I went back. :-(

eBay is pretty good for cables if you just want one or two :-)

Otherwise trying googling it 'Cat 5 15M Patch'

CAT 6 will work fine too. CPC have some 20M ones for about £2.70 at the moment but the postage is a bit steep (about £5 I think) if you fancy some other stuff on there then they have free postage over £45

True when it comes to most USB adapaters however you can use a wireless bridge in the xbox 360's ethernet port or cat5 connected to your laptop/pc and use internet connection sharing. Both much cheaper than Microsofts adapter.

SEL or scanned at till?

i would recommend this over the rivals netgear and belkin. I have all 3 on three desktop computers and this is the one that is already connected when the computer boots up. The Netgear is the slowest at connecting to the wireless signal (from a netgear router) and the belkin takes longer to connect if you plug it in after starting windows...

so a good deal if you can find it....i bought mine from pcworld for £24-25

none in Bournemouth

Any idea if this will support linux as I need one for my laptop, which although has a wireless card it keeps failing so I thought this might be an alternative solution.
#35
any cheap access pint or router can be used as a wirless bridge to to ur current router to connect ur xbobx to the net, cheapey wireless routers can be had for free quite often on freecycle or on the cheap (£10) from ur locacl super market...or second hand for under a fiver normally - ie gumtree.
#36
very good price

took the box to the till, it was the last one. Only seen this mixed up where the laptop bags were on bottom shelf

These are not worth the bother I bought one of these 6 months ago and had to send it back to Linksys in the Netherlands three times as the unit died. I got sick of sending it to them at a cost of £5 postage each time that I give up and bought something else. Reading around the internet lots of people have the same issues. Hope fellow HUKD'ers have better luck.

These don't seem to be in stock anywhere

another store-specific deal voted blindly hot.

No offence to the OP, a deal is a deal, but this kinda thing just makes the site look stupid.
