just had four of these delivered tonight, but paid 50p each and even thats a bargain . lovely looking fruit and very good for its digestive enzymes. so if ever your going to have a big meal and dont want the bloaty feeling after ... just try a few slices of fresh pineapple to digest those hundreds of calories you have just consumed:)

still 50p for me too.
are you sure you didnt buy it with a reduced sticker OP?
#17
It's obviously a store dependant deal, the majority of tesco's will be charging 50p which is a great price anyhow,

OP's store has been overstocked so hence the reduction to 10p
#18
i paid 15p at walthamabbey
#19
Been buying a few of these lately and think they're a bargain at 50p never mind 10p. What a great deal - wish it was in mine! Heat added though.

weve been living off the stuff for the last coupel of weeks, as there has been a few £1 deals, but in Nowich Blue Boar they had the cheek to put the signs up saying LARGE pineapples 50p.............
These pineapples were some of the smallest i'd ever seen rofl... and in comparison to the £1 we had paid the week before the "LARGE" ones were an extremely bad joke, as they had less than half the usable fruit of the previous 'normal' ones for a £1...

Luckily we had picked a couple up from Sainsburies so didn't miss out :-D
#21
Still 50p in the one I went into, sounds like a store specific reduction to me
#22
Up to a £1 here yesterday

no-one doubts you got one for 10p. What we are saying is that is was obviously a one-off store clearance

still wont stop it probably being deal of the day lol

Oh dear.

It doesn't make sense to you so you vote cold?

It's not rocket science love. :-D

I'm voting neither way as it's clearly a store specific reduction.

Are there now like, 500-600 accounts on this website that are run by Tescos advertising department or something, who all come in and vote every Tesco deal hot?

Op has got a good deal but dont think this is the 'normal price'. My daughter works at a large Tesco (On Fruit and veg) and reckons that the store will have been overstocked and are selling them off. It may look like the normal price but it is probably just an effort to get rid of them. I would imagine that they would be very short-dated compared to the £1 ones. Good one-off store bargain though.

V. Cheap!

A good way to know if the pineapple is ripe and ready to eat is to pull at the green bit on the top and if it comes out easily it's ready to eat. You shouldn't need to tug hard at it, it should just come straight out if it's ready.
If it doesn't come out then it isn't ready.
Hope this helps someone!

In Victorian Britain, a Pineapple was considered to be an object of desire and to own one was the pinnacle of success and a true status symbol.

Gentlemen would often carry one around with them and if they were to attend a party or gathering, it would be put on prominent display to imply grandeur and sophistication.

The world leader in Pineapple production was originally Hawaii and the enzymes that are found in Pineapple juice can accelerate the breakdown of human flesh i.e flesh eating fruit.

isnt it about time this was expired. I expect the only store in the UK with them at 10p have now sold out lol
#38
Painterz1 I think you re right regarding the Tesco staff promoting stuff. Probably nothing sinister though just that so many folk work for them, but then again it is free advertising:thinking:
#39
I don't work for Tesco xx

you got a bigger pic of that reciept please?
