Having been a semi-veggie (I sometimes eat fish) for 20 years you wouldn't believe the amount of times I've heard this! Most of us didn't give up eating bacon because we didn't like the taste, we did it for various reasons ranging from love of animals, hatred of cruelty or even just to start a healthier diet. I don't want to start a debate about any of this I just want to make the point that a lot of us miss our bacon sarnies and this is the closest we're gonna get!

Virtually every veggie I know misses the good ol bacon sammich above all other meats.

It's amazing howm many veggies can't resist a proper bacon sarnie when drunk!

or a doner kebab....

I'm the exception to that rule then :)
Became a veggie when i turned 13 but don't remember even eating a bacon sandwich before that, was never really a fan of bacon.

If i miss anything it's lasagne (though there are plenty of denent veggie lasagnes), corned beef and cheeseburgers, but not much.

'Meat-free bacon style'. That rather implies to me that they contain meat.

You what???? Exactly how does the phrase 'meat-free' in any way imply it contains meat!? Have you been down the boozer for lunch or something?:-D

Idiot.

These veggie deals must be posted on top of a bridge, because every time there is a troll lurking.

Go back to letting OTHER people slaughter sentient beings for you to get fat on, you lazy, philosophically inept, sh1t head.

Hot deal!
#15
There's nothing like a veggie to get an overblown, sentimental foul mouthed post like that. I was joking - and because you couldn't detect that, I think you are the moron.

p.s. I do kill animals to eat! You wouldn't know that so don't make your drawn featured, darkened eyed assumptions based on no facts whatsoever!

Some people eat meat, some don't - but only veggies like you overreact like a spoilt child!!!

And every meat thread has a tree hugger complaining about animal treatment, so whats your point troll?

Very true tek-monkey, we can hardly post a deal about 3 battery hens for a tenner without people like him jumping in preaching.

Exactly, so why not vote on the deal not the ethics. Just live and let live/kill as applicable.

It's in the style of a meat-free bacon. But not actually meat-free bacon. Therefore there must be some meat in it.

Rubbish, if I sing a song in the style of Elton John there is no part of Elton John in me. At least I'd hope that.

Tesco Meat Free Bacon Style Pieces 220g

Delicious alternative to beef, made from a blend of soya and wheat proteins.

Delicious is quite unlikely

Yeah, hilarious routine. You should do stand up. I may be foul mouthed, but you are fowl mouthed, and must enjoy eating inferior beings.

I have many friends and relatives who eat meat. It is their choice, I am just frankly sick of the same old tossers making glib comments on veggie deals, implying that all veggies are secretly salivating over animal flesh because of the way it is packaged, and presented.

Incidentally, I don't comment on meat deals, as it is none of my business.

You stop the glib rubbish, and I will stop the moral haranguing, ok?

I already told you once, this is the first time I have commented on a veggie deal, please listen. Having said that, if I'd known how much fun it can be and how caustically you attempt impose your ideals on the whole planet, I'd have started months ago.

Words.

Give it a rest, unless you're a vegan you don't really have any moral high ground.

The deal is cheap for meat substitute, but some prefer actual meat. We are after all omnivores, we have the teefs and everything. Eat what you want, who cares.
#30
I'm not an omnivore, I'll eat anything!
#31
Don't get me wrong. I would eat you no problem.

I do not spend my day castigating meat eaters. It is your choice.

I do respond vehemently to those that decide to castigate vegetarians, however.

Any more for any more?

Well said. Each to their own I say. Your point of view is every bit as valid as anyone else's.

Bit weird for someone to come on a veggie thread and castigate them as is vice versa.

IMHO, you can only have a point of view on the quality of the product on a deals site (which can include the treatment of animals too if you have some moral fibre).

(bet I've introduced an oxymoron there but I am hammered (xmas do lol))

I wrote "Meat free bacon style pieces! You either want to eat bacon or you don't, make your mind up veggies!"

This is so obviously a tongue in cheek and light hearted comment and as such, given the vile and over aggressive response it provoked from him I can only conclude this particular veggie has either social integration problems or perhaps mental health issues.

For the record, I couldn't care less what veggies eat.

Don't quite agree with that. We all know where we draw the line on what we will eat, so why bring it up in a deals thread?

I overreacted. I took out on you what others have done. I admit it. In mitigation HUK has a problem with trolls posting stupid comments every time a veggie deal is posted, and I am bored with it. I can post links if you would like to do your PHD on it?

You 'joke' does bear the same implicative facets as those who constantly shout at vegetarians for daring to not eat meat, but to eat flavouring similar to the flavouring that is used to prepare other meat products for consumption.

Apart from this site, I go quietly through my life not shoving my views down other peoples throats. From the safety of my own couch however, I like to troll the trolls for kicks. I am cheapo, and I am an internet argument addict.

Tek-monkey. You don't agree that morality should play its part in judging deals then eh?

No, I don't. We all know what we will and wont consume already, nobody will change their mind because some faceless keyboard warrior on teh interweb tells them to, so whats the point? If 16 year old russian *****s is your thing, I'm sure you'll appreciate that the mafia is now drop shipping for cheaper prices. That would then make it a good deal, to you anyway.

Too many people on this site vote based on their personal feelings about the product, with complete disregard for those that actually would use it. Why should users not be able to easily find a chicken deal, just because some people vote cold because they only buy free range? Why should what one person thinks is moral affect another person?

As I always end up saying on these threads, its about prices. If you can't find the same or better product at a cheaper price then it is, in fact, a deal. Just because you don't like the product does not magically change its price.

Or should I vote cold every iPhone/Pod etc. just because I don't like Apple? Of course I shouldn't, cos that would make me a bit of a cock.
