these are fantastic phones for the elderly/disabled they have an alarm button feature to switch the phone to loud speaker and send a pre set text message to chosen numbers and then ring each number until some one answers it, i bought by mum a doro 410 and its brilliant this is a 409 but i cant see any difference ,really simple to use and also hearing aid compatable , free delivery on all pay as you go mobiles and tesco have a double your clubcard vouchers promo on mobiles...... one thing i will add is the one i bought was on orange and i had to pay them for the unlocking code

This is £20 cheaper and sim free, put whatever you like in it. And the SOS feature definitely does work. A non flip phone is certainly more suitable for my OAP.

That is a stonking deal for a pretty easy to use old folks phone, we got one for xmas for the "old dear" ...it's LOUD, ...VERY LOUD!
(program the clowns nose horn ..closing tone, before giving it to the old dorothy) X)

Can be run off 4 key buttons more or less, so if they've gone a bit "wooly" ..chances are they'll still be able to use it like my mother, (& man is she bad even a toaster is becoming a hardship) oO

recommended ..easy to find (flashes) , long standby, can be heard buried deep in rubbish strewn handbags & in rooms where the tv is set to deafening!

My elderly mom also uses a cell phone that works almost the same as Doro does. But what she’s specifically using is the Just5 Easyphone. Just like Doro, Just5 is also very easy-to-use and also offers very useful features such as big buttons, amplified sound, PERS, and built-in flashlight. What are even greater about Just5 are the very attractive services it offers for very competitive rates. My mom is able to save a good amount of sum by availing its rollover minutes and unlimited service plan. Most often, she only spends as low as $3.33 a month by getting the cheapest minute plan that this provider offers.

spammer alert... this whiffs of it "rebeccapenafiel" in this donation to HUKD you claim to have given one to "mom" ..indicating you are from overseas & the use of $ instead of £, also you keep sounding off on the actual brand model on numerous occasions..

So I looked for you & appatrantly you are your MUM as well according to a review you put up in Australia, deriding the Doro & selling the aforementioned alternative..

here it is..

Pros: easy to use.
Cons: the quality is not guaranteed.
Overall: I am often sick perhaps because of my old age. Good thing my daughter gave me a Just5 mobile phone. I prefer this phone than Doro. With this, I am certain that with one click to the emergency SOS button, the emergency contacts will be automatically dialed. One time when I had a falling accident I pressed the SOS button. I woke up inside the hospital because my daughter was able to receive my emergency call in minutes. Learn more about this http://www.******.com. (removed link by Mr Gus)

Well spotted Mr Gus. We Brits dont use cell phones or flashlights, either.
