Why would you even consider this when you can buy the 4g version for a mere £45

Price is important for alot of people. "a mere £45 more" is an extra 50% of the value of the phone. 4G is also not important for alot of people especially here in N.Ireland, with only one provider who has rolled out 4G and so far only Three to say they should have rolled out by end of 2014.

Excellent value for money, no doubt there will be more price reductions elsewhere too as the 4G model has recently been released.
#3

#4

Not everyone has 4g speeds on their contracts and so dont need a 4g phone.

It won't take an o2 sim out of the box. I got unlocked on Bay for £1.29 within the hour though....

No moto g phone will come with a charger.
The o2 refurbs are as new with 12 month warranty in will work for him straight away.
The phone comes with the USB lead so he will need a plug, such as this
http://www.amazon.co.uk/ADAPTOR-CHARGER-BLACKBERRY-SAMSUNG-UNIVERSAL/dp/B00CLQY8DQ/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1404579694&sr=8-1&keywords=usb+plug
Which he will need with any moto g

I got mine on the Virgin deal. I love it, it's a cracking phone. One of the main complaints about it is photo quality, but I think it is pretty good for the price so don't be put off.
#18
Did know that thanks for the info

So good I'm tempted to buy a spare in case I lose mine. I don't need 4 g

1) Because 4G is just a con?
2) Most people couldn't care less about 4G?
3) £45 is a lot more when you can buy it for less than £100 with 3G

Just guesssing.

Calling 4G a "con" is quite the exaggeration.

Most people bought the 4G because it has expandable memory. For some people, that's a real deal breaker, for others it doesn't matter.

The trouble is there's only 73% 4G coverage and that's with EE which is the best in the market right now. http://ee-mobiles.co.uk/ee-coverage-checker?id=01OT50000022&gclid=COuNvp2er78CFRHHtAodO2gAng

Fair point. I definitely wouldn't buy it because it had 4G, but I might consider buying it for the SD slot. Wouldn't want to pay £45 extra, admittedly, but if there was less of a price differential it might swing the deal for me.

I just got the 4G and I don't have a 4G contract and probably never will, I just needed the SD slot so I can use Titainum backup and put all my music on there. To be honest, I don't think that many people actually care about the 4G. I wouldn't disagree that for some people the price difference isn't worth it, but for others it very well could be, including me.

Either way, the Moto G is an amazing little phone.

Yes, don't be put off by complaints about photos.

This phone takes cracking pictures, plenty good enough for the average user. I don't know why the silly complaints by a minority have taken such hold.

One of the best phones available, and this is a really great price.

Get it, you won't regret it!

Never know why people complain about camera quality on phones, cant even remember the last time I used mine, if im going to a place where im taking photos ill bring my dslr, I dont want to be one of the saddos flipping their phone out taking "selfies" or really poor quality pictures in a club. Apart from some of the nokias I cant say ive ever been impressed by a phones camera, not sure why I need the ability to take good photos on my way to work or in town anyway....unless your a narcissist.

I have never taken a selfie in my life but use my camera on my phone on a daily basis. The majority of the pics are work related. I could carry a DSLR with me I suppose and link that to a laptop with a dongle so I could upload the photos and send them to people but somehow carrying a phone with that ability built in seems somewhat easier.
#29
I am thinking of getting this in place of a Samsung S4. Is there a real big difference between the two as I simply want to surf the net for every now and then and get emails?

Thanks

4g on O2 was rolled out in Belfast and Lisburn last week.

What about unplanned photos? Spur of the moment things and the like. I think the saddo is the guy with the dSLR personally

Great price for the features, I'm sorely tempted. Thanks for posting this :)

Do any company buy topups from simcards?

I've got a few from cpw but lying around not bring used, I'd rather sell them for cheaper price or even half the price...
#34
I had this and got it unlocked no problems but be wary people I tried to unlock the bootloader and it said it didn't qualify for bootloader unlocking, done some research and it appears quite a few phones purchased from Tesco were exactly the same.

Ended up selling mine and will buy one unlocked next time where it should qualify for bootloader unlocking.
#35
Tesco employees should be able to get 20% off this price this coming week! That's £76.
#36
Bought the 4G with SD card from Tesco earlier this week.

Can't say enough brilliant things about this phone. Amazing price and the battery life is just something else.

If you're looking for a new phone and you don't want to spend over £150, it's gotta be the Moto G/4G.

is this locked to a particular network?

Can only agree, after reading the repeated 'great phone, shame about the camera' comments, and getting one a couple of months ago, I can't believe how decent they are. I won't win any photography awards, but I can take a picture of things and read the text on them, and images are clear enough.

Also, with regard to storage space, you can always get an OTG USB cable, and connect a USB flash drive, to keep all your music on, it'll be in a pocket or bag while you're playing so it's not a big deal to have something extra sticking out of the phone :)
#39
er so is this just the one store or any store?
#40
was marked up at £110 earlier today in our local Tesco Extra (Litherland)

didn't ask to check, although thinhd have been marked up with incorrect prices before

would of thought the £10 per month deal on Tesco mobile is better anyway
