How easy to unlock?

On a scale of potato to 10, it's probably about potato.

So much hate for this little fella! - not everyone wants a massive screen, or spend a lot of money so a 4G phone that has very good performance and no bloat is what a lot of people want for around the £100 mark.

I see lots of people saying it's crap/old/smelly/small screen/camera worse than a pinhole camera etc but I don't see them posting better alternatives for a similar price, probably because right now it's almost impossible to find a better spec phone at this price point. Prove me wrong negative posters and don't include one off products that require me to use my Tardis to go and buy one, not everyone has a Tardis.

I'd save your cash towards the 2nd generation Moto G unless you totally need the 4G (and who does really?) - it's much better (the camera is in a different league to the horrible original 5MP version, not just in pixels, and is useable where the original was barely) although the battery life is not quite as good I think

So basically you're saying go for the 2nd gen if you want a better camera, or go for this is you want 4G? So in answer to your "who needs 4G" question, I would say more people than those that buy a phone solely for the camera (as I would assume those people that are into their photography would have a decent SLR or the like).
I'd say you're wrong - most of country still doesn't have 4G in real terms and most parents use their phones far more for cameras than they use their cameras. We have a decent micro 4/3rds camera but still take most photos on our phones - the best camera you have is the one you have.

I would like this alot if it was not on O2 which I have found to be pretty useless with signal coverage (2g & 3g). Has anyone seen such a good deal with EE / Orange / T-Mobil.

Discount code is valid on 1st order only....didn't work for me.

People went loco for these at £115 and now they're £10 cheaper. Wait another couple of months and they'll be £95!

I'm confused when are you saying this phone will be a deal? If I catch what you're saying, this is possibly not a deal because it will be cheaper at sometime in the future, but isn't that the case for most deals?

Costs about the same as a bag of potatoes as well.

Yes, but getting a decent SIM only contract with the EE group is not much cheaper than getting a Galaxy S4 contract at £19.99/month for 100 mins, 1gb data & infinity texts and the S4 is a better phone - I believe.

Is this the second gen version?

Cheers OP, just registered with a different email as a new account and got the £10 off :)

I unlocked mine for £1.50 and it took about 1 hour for the code to come through. I then got a sim only package from 3. For £12.90 I get 200 mins, unlimited data and 5000 texts. Not bad. Think the sim only is now £15 but with 600mins

I got this when it was first released, found it through this site, absolutely love it. Had the occasional problem where the SD card or sim has spontaneously unmounted but I'm just too lazy to get a replacement, wouldn't have any other phone.

I second that. I've got a SanDisk Ultra 64gb microsd, and regardless of the file system I format it in, the phone just doesn't like it.

Not yet, but apparently it's already been rolled out in India, so I would presume the rest of the world isn't far behind! They suggested by the end of December, so I guess any day now...

Probably something to do with all packaging and websites stating that the phone is limited to 32gb...

Currently using an iphone 4s , although this has slowed up abit with IOS 8 , I am thinking the camera and video of the 4s , is still far superior to this Moto G ??

Haha, and would you like to explain to me the technical reason for that? Spend 10 minutes doing a Google search and you'll see that this isn't the case, regardless of the 'official' limit stated.

Fair enough. But yeah, my main point was that they're both good phones, just one is more useful than the other depending on what you're after :3
