Just bought one in green for my wife. Available in black, orange or green.

Windows not my cup of tea but my wife loves windows mobile.

Great spec for the money and looks great.

1.5% quidco and obviously 89 clubcard points.

All I need now is a 4 quid unlock code from code unlock now.

A lovely phone to use, but why did they have to abandon the normal Nokia Lumia design for this cheap and nasty plastic look?
#2
Can you confirm £4 unlock code?
#3
Are you sure it's locked?

When I bought my Lumia 920 from Tesco Direct, it was sim free despite the sticker on the box saying it's locked to Tesco Mobile.

Why did they cripple the phone by removing the flash? Hope they soon release mid-range phone with that feature onboard.

This is what the low end lumias have always looked like

Op, where do you unlock for £4?

Using this phone now, lovely screen and 8.1 is excellent but the cover does look a bit cheap. Makes my mates iPhone 5 look tiny X)
#8
@N1Andy your comment is wrong. I have one of these and it certainly doesn't feel or look cheap and performs fast and smooth. The plastic is not cheap crap or cheap feeling don't remark unless you've held one

I looked at one of these the other day. Its no IPhone 5S but I wouldn't call it cheap and nasty.

Same price (or £10 less for upgrade) at cpw. All their phones are unlocked, saves the grief of unlocking.

£99.99 + £10 top up at cpw

I agree with N1Andy, the 630 does indeed look cheap, plasticy and nasty, even compared to 620. That being said, he (like I) probably both just saw the non-functional dummy version in store (phones4u), and hopefully the real thing is not the same!?!

630 compared to predecessor, 620 is... a step back.
Removed camera flash, same specs, insufficient RAM (512MB is not enough for new games), lack of 4G.
Only slightly better specs: CPU clock (1.2GHz vs. 1.0GHz), Bluetooth (version 4.0 low power installed) and slightly better battery. 620 should get the same version of WP system within a month.

I'm not sure who the hell you think you are, but I am entitled to my own opinion, and it happens to be one that many agree with!

I'm not wrong at all - it is my opinion, and btw i already own one since last weekend and it's nowhere near as nice (in design) as the 620 that it replaced. I also still own the 620 and a 920 (which will shortly be replaced by the 930 that comes out next week), so I'm hardly anti WP or Nokia for that matter.

I'm a total Android nut for phones, but I'd even get my mum one of these phones. IOS/WP8 in my opinion is easy to use, WP8 app store doesn't quite have all the apps yet but it's getting there. Thing is phones with WP8 are much cheaper than Apple phones running IOS. WP8 is very fast/slick so yeah I don't see a problem with you getting one for your mum. I'm not knocking Apple also in case anyone gets the hump over my comments :) Here's my rating for what it's worth:

Blackberry - pointless in lieu of the competition, don't bother. App stock massively lacking. Great OS though in BB10

WP8 (Microsoft)- Fast, fluid, slick, most of the phones don't have the build quality of Apple phones. App store slightly lacking.

IOS (Apple)- Fast on recent hardware, best app store, excellent build and quality.

Android (Google, multiple manufacturers) - rivals IOS for apps almost. Can find a phone with the budget and quality you want no problem, see phones such as HTC One/M8 for quality at a price. OS has mind boggling amount of customisation. Android OS is always best in its latest incarnation, doesn't run on all hardware, massively varied hardware and performance with so many manufacturers means Android running on the wrong hardware is a total lagfest horror show.

I am a regular android user, but I got the lumia 625 for work.
And I like it.
The great thing about it is the phone. The dedicated camera button is great. even if phone is locked, just hit camera button and take snaps quickly.
Its fast too.
Only downside was that the app support was low. Even ebay etc wasnt as good as my android version.
#22
if anyone finds a Lumia 625 for £100 or less with top up inc in price let me know.
The old posts on here are OOD

Ha, Yeah, ive been a Android supporter since my trusty old HTC Magic. Went into the store and had a gander the 630 and its so easy to use. Bought.

Bah. No equalizer.

Granted its a low-end phone... the phone market kinda indirectly took a poop on the MP3 player market. Be nice if good DAP functionality (DAC, EQ) became commonplace in low-ends because of it.

No, if it's locked to Tesco Mobile it will only work with a Tesco Mobile SIM. Giffgaff and O2 SIMs can't be used in a Tesco Mobile locked phone.

On the other hand, an O2 locked phone does allow Tesco Mobile and Giffgaff SIMs.

Ebay has recently been updated for WP 8.1, and has 99% of the features of the android version. The old version was awful.

You're long time iPhone user, right?
Please be informed all other phones need just a password code to unlock. If you know algorithm, code can be calculated using IMEI number. And algorithm is known for many phones, thought not always available for public

no, I had so much trouble trying to unlock a Nokia 620 on the 89.99 O2 special deal a year or so back I had to call in a favour from someone at O2. Please see my previous posts if you like, where many others like me had trouble finding an unlock code.

Unable to get a code from code unlock now, had to go to Tesco for £20, waste of time.

My order is ready for collection at my local Tesco. Don't think I'll be collecting it if I can't get an unlock code for less than 20 quid. Could have ordered the unlocked one for 20 quid more. Why do posters state than you can unlock it for 4 quid when it seems likely that they are talking ****!!!!!
#32
how long do I have to wait until my local phone repair shop can unlock these phones then? might just try my Three sim in it.. see if I get lucky like Speculator.

yep, experience tells me brand new Nokia models can only be unlocked by the network.

Bought one yesterday, popped a giff gaff sim in it and was told it was network locked.

Paid Tesco £20 only to then be told that it will take at least 7 days whilst they contact Nokia for the code.

I'm fine with this, but I know a lot of people that wouldnt be.

If you are to get one remember they wont give you the code straightaway
#35
This has gone up to £99 now but you can get it unlocked from Tesco Direct for £109. They also have the Nokia Lumia 635 unlocked for £128 which is £8 more than Phones 4u but it's in the Clubcard Boost promo if you've got vouchers to use.

Got it, and hugely disappointed. Plasticky, and the ONLY Lumia phone not getting the important Cyan update - WHY FFS ??????? Yes it may well get it but why the bloody delay ? Whjy is it the ONLY one missing out ?
The idiotic idea to have the bottom menu now on the screen while leaving the area below empty and removing quarter inch of screen is staggering in its idiocy
I may well return this.
