A Tesco Mobile SIM with £10 top-up loaded on to start you off. Once you've used this up you can triple your credit with £15 and £20 top-ups.

For example, if you top-up £15 we'll give you another £30 free credit, giving you £45 to spend on calls and texts to any UK mobile or landline, at any time. You can also use your free credit for mobile internet browsing or picture messaging. A £20 top-up will get you an extra £40 free credit.

If you choose to top-up £10 we'll double it - giving you £20 credit. It really is as good as it sounds. Your free credit is given once each month, takes 48 hours to activate and is valid for the whole month.

We also give you half price calls and texts to your five favourite numbers, so calls to these numbers are 10p per minute instead of 20p and texts are 5p a text instead of 10p.

Or you can change to the tesco payg lite tariff by calling cutomer services and get calls for 8p and txt for 4p ,thus spreading your £10 credit even further...

Ive had a few of these and the £10 credit never seems to turn up always end up calling customer services to get it added.

Credit you put on will always stay there if not used (providing you use the SIM once every 6 months) you need to top up every month if you want the triple credit offer...

SO wrong not complicated at all ,ive used this tarriff for 2 years without ever having any problems ,in fact i cant remember ever calling customer services up ,the free credit last a month but it is added on top of your top up,the free credit is used first on your calls,if you have some free credit left after a month yes you will lose this but the actual amount of top up still remains ,you get plenty of texts from tesco telling you when the free credit expires so i presume most will make sure its used up before it expires ,once it expires it takes calls from your top up amount , for light users a 10.00 top up should last 2 months with the free credit ,so NOT CONFUSING AT ALL VERY STRAIGHT FORWARD

you must be very unlucky ,free credit normally texted to you by tesco in around 24 hours from top up never had a problem

its very good, i used to use it, £20 top up every time, then turns into £60, never used all the free credit, and after each month i just built up £20 each time (so after 4 months i had £80 credit on the sim card) etc.
but ASDA mobile is better for people who hardly use their payg phone

I bought some a year or more ago and the credit was on, no problem. Bought 3 a few months ago no credit turned up on ANY had to contact them for all 3 and they (eventually) added on all 3 but on one of them the credit seems to have 'locked' and despite me phoning CS (at a cost of 25p) and him faffing around and telling me he'd reset it 2 hours later it locked again :roll:

Not true at all! Tesco PAYG is terrific value. I never use all of my free credit so the credit I pay for just builds up. In fact it has reached so much that I'll give myself several months off, paying nothing at all, just using accumulated credit.

Triple Clubcard points with top-ups at Tesco too.

I also discovered in-store (telecoms desk) that there is a 'secret' credit account which is added to each time you top-up. Mine had reached over £40 and was enough to buy a decent new phone when they were £20 off with £40 shopping (like now), or can be used to buy more credit.

My daughter has come off a contract with O2 and can't believe how far her Tesco PAYG credit has stretched! You can set up a credit DD if you want it to happen automatically.

Don't even think about web browsing on Tesco Mobile their data charges are a whopping £4 per Mb. Compare that to Asda Mobile who charge just charge just 20p per Mb.

The PAYG lite tariff, with the exclusion of data charges, like Asda's is decent for a light user but the normal PAYG tariff seems like too much messing around. Providing you haven't got bad credit you'd be better off on O2 Simplicity.

For those people who just want to check their emails / browse occasionally on a pay as you go basis (rather than buying a weekly bundle) then the Asda 20p per meg could work out cheaper.
