Tesco Mobile are now giving you TRIPLE credit on £10+ top up on PAYG.

e.g. You pay £10, you get £30 credit for the month, pay £15 get £45, etc.

They also have a £2/week unlimited (by unlimited they mean 100Mb per month!) which you can set-up to come off your credit every Monday. So in theory for £10 a month you get unlimited data and £22 credit for calls & txt.

Any unused credit that you got free is removed at the end of the month but you keep any paid credit you have. Free credit is used up first.

Seems like a good deal to me for PAYG and you want a data package.

Flat rate is 20p a call and 10p a txt but you can set up 5 fav numbers and they're charged 10p a call and 5p a txt.

I think Tesco use O2 as the network provider...

You could maybe get £1 Quidco for ordering the sim too.

I couldn't see it in a search on Hotukdeals though.

Does anyone have this and is it good?

You might be better of on the extra value tariff 8p a min 5p a txt than this 20p 10p tarif espisally if you phone 0845 /0871 no. Been on it for about 1 year no probs, uses the 02 network

I would recommend looking at giffgaff buying a £10 bundle a month gets you 100 mins/unltd texts/unltd internet, free 0800 numbers and unlimited free mintues and texts between giffgaff. And out of bundle call charges are 8p minute and 4p texts.

Thanks for suggestions guys. Looking for a light calls/txt package but decent data package. I'll look these up. On the Genie O2 PAYG sim at mo which is costing me only about £5/month but has no data and I'm about to 'acquire' a HTC desire from work so want something that will be better suited. Cheers!

I'd agree with that - the lite tariff is far better. With this buy x and get 3x credit is just confusing and one gets used up before the other and you never quite know where the hell you are. I'm on o2 but I changed the Mrs to the Tesco lite tariff.

This 'extra' credit can only be used in the UK - if you top up for use abroad you only get the standard amount to use.
#8
Yes and in case you need to hear that in a different way, you can be abroad, make calls, use up your "standard" £10 and have £30 "free credit" and be unable to phone anyone or even send a text. Rubbish!

Can someone answer this query...

Tesco Mobile 'uses' the O2 network - but is the sim card a re-branded O2 sim or is it a Tesco-specific sim which uses O2?

I ask as I have an Iphone currently locked to O2 and before I either go for a O2 Simplicity sim or even go down the unlocking route, I wondered if the Tesco Mobile sim would work in the Iphone 'as-is'?

Thanks (in advance).

I am not sure but why don't you just get your iphone officially unlocked - you can get o2 to unlock it by requesting online and they do it remotely. I had mine unlocked, takes about 3 days. I did the opposite by the way - I bought my iphone from Tesco and used an o2 sim in it while it was still 'locked' to Tesco so I tend to think they're seen as one and the same.

Request o2 unlock it (it's also free) at http://shop.o2.co.uk/update/unlockmyiphone.html

I was going to post this deal myself. Has anyone tried using the extra credit to bet with using betnow? Say top up £20, then use £40 credit to bet on a safe bet (obviously there's no such thing as a safe bet) then potentially get £40 back in your pocket £20 on the phone and possibly a little extra. Same sort of premise as the o2 goals deal which worked out treally well (atleast for myself).

heres a sure thing yours only get back 36.66£ on a 20£ (60 with free credit load tho) and you have to wait 95 days, (not great but if you do it up to your 3 times a day limit every days thats what 1549.38£ profit pcm, tho you would need a lot of start to top up 93 sim cards with 20£ each) *TURE i doubt you can use the free credit to pay for online cashback/betting but worth saying*

if you cant use the free credit for online sites you can just buy sims with 10£ credit/top up vouchers on ebay for about 4£ for tescos and do those but 2£ profit aint really worth the 95days wait to its payable, well it might be to some people

Tesco Mobile - £6.11 Cashback (tho another cashback site where you can exchange payg credit for cash, getpoundsback.co.uk
