With Tesco iv been told you get 300 clubcard points for every mobile your recycle and send to the freepost address.

However i vividly remember they once used to give 500 green clubcard points.

now what is even more confusing and for us moneysavers a point for argument in getting the 500 points is:

Tesco over the phone confirmed you get 300 points for every phone you recycle
Confirmed here:
http://www.tesco.com/greenerliving/what_we_are_doing/green_clubcard_points/default.page?

BUT here it states you get 500
http://direct.tesco.com/content/specials/greenClubcardPoints.aspx

Go Figure!!!

iv sent in a phone recently with a screen dump of the 500 points link (hope they give me the full 500!)

Furthermore with the TJ hughes Deal on the Motorola F3 if you buy one at 7.48 delivered and send it off you would get £20 deals (if given 500 points) or £12 deals (if given 300 points)

They have definately reduced the number of points they are offering for a working phone from 500 to 300. The link that shows 500 points is an old one that has not been changed because Tesco this year are supporting the Marie Curie Cancer charity, and the link shows the Tesco Red Cross link, which was last years charity.
There is also a limit of 5 phones per card holder per year.

Still worth doing though, for the 4 times face value deals.

Worth doing a long as you keep a sharp eye on actually getting the points.
I sent 2 back and only got points for 1 and had to chase up the "lost" one.
When I spoke to C/S they said there was no real check and to be honest it just seemed like they were taking my word for it.

That was about a year ago so things may have changed since then. Just be aware :)

The ink cartridges is a good one... I've got 18 HP cartridges sitting in a bag... waiting to be sent off when the pre-paid envelopes come.
100 Tesco poins per catridge... = 1800 points for the 18 catridges... = £18
Exchange that for deal vouchers x 4 = £72

Good luck with that. I've sent 11 cartridges the last 6 months and they only claimed to have received 2 of them !

I posted a phone and never got anything back. That said I've done very well with the ink carts, I've sent all the work emptys off and now I've got next years RAC cover sorted :)

If either the phone or ink carts go missing, couldn't you always go and make a claim with royal mail (assuming you've gone and got a proof of postage cetificate)?

i sent 3 phones off at eastertime last year (all just sat in the bottom of my wifes drawer, turned on but nothing fancy)........chased them all up with C/S at tesco who were as usefull as a paper parachute in a hurricane storm.
they either told me they was a high volume of takeup and they were about 12 weeks backlog or they will look into it and get back to me. 7 times i rang them and on the final time they game me a telephone number to ring which turned out to be the printer cartridge recycling place and not the mobile phone one.
i ended up having to email the mobile phone recycling place as they didnt have a phone number for them.........so i got a reply from them and explained the WHOLE situation. there was no record of ANY phones being sent in by me but as a gesture of goodwill they have credited me with 1500 points :)

for those needing to contact them to chase up, dont bother with tesco C/S:

points should appear on my statement by the end of this month.
